Subject: Re: George Nicholson Harrow on The Hill
There's a strange coincidence between these NICHOLSON given names and those of my John
NICHOLSON who died 1818 in Oglethorpe Co., GA. He supposedly was born in the old
country and came to America with brothers as a very young man. Sons were George,
William, John, with daughters Sarah, Margaret, Mary, Ann, Jane. Lilly is a common
name for women from early on till well into 20th C. And Samuel and Joseph are also used;
they were possibly John's brothers with Joseph having a daughter Lilly m in Mecklenburg
Co., NC, by 1765 to a {Patrick} JACK. I would very much like to know more about your
family and their possible origins!
