DEATH; Will & Inventory (Probate), Orange Co NC Fa1l 1815 through the 1840's. WILL lists his wife, children, several grandchildren; Bk D, pg. 455, and is dated 13 Oct 1811. Money was drawn from his estate on 24 May 1815, to bury him.
Settlement of John's estate continued from the time of his death until 1843. (Orange County Estate Records, North Carolina State Archives). These records provide detailed information on his heirs, and are invaluable.

Obituary: "Died in this county on the 4th instant, Mr. John Nealy in the 69th year of his age. The deceased was for many years a member of the Presbyterian Church in which he was a Rulin Elder.
He died enjoying the consolations of the Gospel, leaving his widow and children, with many friends, to mourn, but not as those who have no hope. His will was filed in Orange Co., NC about 1855. All children are named.
