Irving Pictures were not available for two other members of the James Colmore Rogers Family. The eldest was Charlton Morgan Rogers b. ca 1870 died 1941 at Bristol, TN. He had one son, Julian, who died as a young adult. Charlton Morgan Rogers was so named after his Fathers' friend Charleton Morgan, brother of General John Hunt Morgan, who was a neighbor in Lexington KY. The youngest child, Wilson Rogers, born 1879 died 1965. Wilson was a Vaudeville Minstrel Singer-Dancer known as "Jack" Rogers. As a youngster he was called Wils Rogers by family, but as a professional, the name Will Rogers was taken. Wilson Rogers started as a Steamboat Minstrel and later played all the known Vaudeville Circuits. During WWII and in his 60's he was a Recreation Specialist for the Great Lakes Naval Training Station in Illinois. A noted Genealogist, Jean Rogers Webb, was his youngest daughter. |
