Jesnair B* Mathilde Ransonet was jesnair b p142.
Note* She Dear Don--

Thanks for your input--glad to meet a live cousin--most of my research has
led only to dead ones.

Not real familiar with the word pad ahnentafel format so have printed it
out & will have to study it a bit.

First-- Mother's name is MATHILDE. Her mother's name was EDMA (which she
hated and went by Theresa) You have Mother's birth date correct and my
grandmother's also. Edma & Thelismar had a civil ceremony 1st on May 23,1899
at the N.I. Ct house. The church ceremony was June 4, 1899 as you show it.

I am assuming the * 's peppered throughout mean data skips in this report?

I have never heard of Jestnair Bonin nor his book! Where can I see a copy?

My grandmother was the oldest of 7 girls and most of them never had the
opportunity to learn to read and write. This I did not know until about
1971.
What I did know about the family when starting my genealogy treck was the
names of all of the sisters, their married names ( although not all of the
husbands first names) most of Mothers first cousins names, and the names of
her grandparents. I knew she was born in Loreauville, and some of the
things which caused Nana to leave Thelismar. Also, I had met all but one of
her Aunts at one time or another, & had an opportunity in 1970 to jot down
some info. while visiting with the youngest one. That was a big help when
starting out.

Without Rev. Donald Hebert's SW LA. records, I would still be in the dark.

You have also opened some more doors for me and I thank you.

OK so just how are we the 3rd cous. 3xremoved? I have fairly extensive
family pages on several generations of Bonins, and information from you ,
Rev. Hebert and the Mormon records on the Louvieres.

By the way the little mark under the c (I'll have to look up it's proper
name) not only makes it look a bit like an s, but causes it to be pronounced
like an s or a soft c in French.

When in La. in Feb. I looked for the Lydia church. only to find that what's
there is about the 3rd one and the original was at Patoutville, and the
cemetery & original statue that stood in front of the church is still there.
Didn't get to check it out then or in Aug. either. High on my priorities
next trip.

Glad you heard from Alan J. Louviere--so you turned out to be the literary
cousin!

Am enjoying this correspondence.
