There are two default sources for Hilgendorf family information. One is the Krumwiede Family Reunion Book, begun in 1941 and updated annually at the Krumwiede Family Reunion in Buckley, Illinois. It is not always mentioned where it applies. The other is a compilation of the Hilgendorf descendants by M.D. Hilgendorf and his cousin Sophia Hilgendorf Osterhouse, published in 1994. These two sources do not always agree. A note is made of discrepancies between the two sources.

Christina DÜWELL was born in 1800. She died before 1900. Assumed Johann HILGENDORF and Christina DÜWELL had the following children:
