About the only thing we know about the Freitags is that for a short time George Freitag (my Mother referred to him as George Friday) was married to my Mothers' sister, Elsie Marr. After he got out of service (guess that would have been World War I) I was told he lived in South Dakota. Roys' Dad told me that George was his cousin. There was never any news about the rest of the family, at least none that we heard.
This is an indication that perhaps the birth registry as FRIDAY was not accidental, but a deliberate attempt to change the family's surname. If anyone has information regarding the continued use of this surname, please contact me.
