My sister Mildred Ennen died Wednesday morning at Heartland Health Care Center, Paxton, IL. The funeral will be at the Lutheran church in Loda, IL Monday at 11:00. Viewing with be Sunday 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Ford Baier funeral home. She was 84. I will send you the obit later.

Mildred Ennen
LODA -- Mildred Ennen, 84, of Loda died at 11:35 a.m. Wednesday (Dec. 15, 2004) at Heartland Health Care, Paxton.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 215. N. Poplar St., Loda. The Rev. David Allen will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Buckley.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Ford-Bair Funeral Home, 406 E. Pells St., Paxton, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church.
Mrs. Ennen was born March 28, 1920, in Buckley, a daughter of Ernest and Ida Saathoff Krumwiede. She married Russell Ennen on Dec. 20, 1940, in Logansport, Ind. He died in January 1981.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol Ann Ennen of Champaign; and a brother, Orval Wayne Krumwiede of Falls Church, Va.
She was preceded in death by two brothers.
Mrs. Ennen attended Chebanse Lutheran Grade School and assisted her husband in farming. She was a paper hanger and cooked at Redwood Inn in Rantoul for several years.
She was a member of Loda Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid. She was the coordinator of the Senior Citizens group for Loda and Buckley. She also drove seniors to various events for a number of years and coordinated senior potlucks.
She enjoyed painting, decorating and going to garage sales.
Memorials may be made to the church; Hospice Program; or to Cancer research.
She was buried on 20 Dec 2004 in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Buckley, Illinois.19 Section D, Row 2, Plot 27

Ennen remains active in church, town events

Loda - Mildred Krumwiede Ennen was born on a farm east of Buckley to Ernest and Irma Saathoff Krumwiede. Mrs. Enne was out-numbered as far as boys and girls in her family - the only daughter among four children.
The Krumwiedes had three sons - Elmer of Colorado Springs, Colo., Marvin of Chebanse, who is deceased, and Orval of Falls Church, Va.
Mrs. Ennen attended parochial school in Chebanse, where she was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
She married Russell Ennen in 1939. They had one daughter, Carol, who lives in Champaign. Mildred worked as a paper hanger. She also was employed at the Redwood Inn in Rantoul from 1970 to 1976.
After the Ennens married they lived on a farm until 1978 when they moved to Loda.
Mrs. Ennen taught Sunday school for 25 years at St. Peters Lutheran Church, Thawville. After she moved her membership to the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Loda, she taught Sunday school there for a few years.
She is a member of the Ladies Aid and LWML and belongs to the singles group and evangelism committee of the church.
She helped to get the senior van visits started to Loda and the senior citizen potluck program going in 1990 with the help of Gwen Ennen.
Her hobbies are flowers, crafts and quilts. The quilts and lap robes she donates to those in need. To many, Mrs. Ennen personifies kindness and helpfulness to her neighbors, her church and community.

Mildred KRUMWIEDE and Russell Franklin ENNEN were married on 20 Dec 1939. (Her obituary gives a year of 1940.) Russell Franklin ENNEN (son of Claude ENNEN and Anna Okken GARRELTS) was born on 29 May 1913 in Artesia Township, Iroquois County, Illinois.458 He died on 20 Jan 1981. He was buried about 23 Jan 1981 in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Buckley, Illinois.19 Section D, Row 2, Plot 26 Mildred KRUMWIEDE and Russell Franklin ENNEN had the following children:
