Irma D. Jenkins, 73, of rural Paxton, a former Loda resident, died at 5:35 p.m. Tuesday (June 18, 2002) enroute to Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Loda, with the Rev. David A. Allen officiating. Burial will be in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Loda.
Visitation will be Saturday from 3:30 to 8 p.m. at the Ford Baier Funeral Home, 406 E. Pells St., Paxton, and at the church Sunday one hour before the service. At 7:45 p.m. Saturday, there will be a memorial service conducted by both the American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 503, Loda, and Iroquois Salon 667 of the 8 & 40 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Jenkins was born July 13, 1929 at Buckley, a daughter of Fred and Meta Hilgendorf Ronna. She married Arthur A. Ennen Aug. 9, 1947 at her parents' home in Loda. He died Sept. 25, 1999. She married William Jenkins Jr. June 7, 2002 at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Loda. He survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Linda (Les) Niemann of Buckley, Deborah (Donald) Sans of Paxton and Pamela (James) Bristle of Buckley; one son, Gregory (Linda) Ennen of Paxton; a step-daughter, Sandra (Skip) Wilson of Fisher; one step-son, Roger Jenkins of Fisher; 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; two step-great-granddaughters; two step-great-grandsons; one sister, Lois Grohler of Kankakee; and three brothers, Delmar, Lawrence and Orville Ronna, all of Paxton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; one great-grandson; and one step-grandson.
She lived in Loda all her life until moving to Paxton this year.
She attended Loda Grade School and graduated from Loda High School in 1947. She was the salutatorian of her class.
She was retired, having been employed by D.A. Terry of Loda, Lehigh Paving of Paxton, Redwood Inn of Rantoul, Flessner Truck Equipment of Rantoul and most recently by Rantoul Truck Equipment.
She was a charter member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Loda and had served in many offices of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League, Ladies Aid, and was serving as chairman of the Aid Association for Lutherans branch 4781. She was active in the American Legion Auxiliary, Loda Unit 503 and was serving as Department of Illinois state chaplain; she was 18th District president 1982-1983 and 4th Division president in 1992. She was also active in 8 & 40.
She especially enjoyed her family, traveling, gardening and volunteer work.
Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Loda, the American Legion Auxiliary Nurses Scholarship Fund, the 8 & 40 Camp Super Kids or a charity of the donor's choice.
She was a member of Iroquois Salon 8 & 40.411

Art, Irma Ennen to celebrate their 50th
Loda - Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Ennen of Loda are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house on Sunday, Aug. 10 from 2-4 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Loda. Art Ennen and the former Irma Ronna were married on Aug. 9, 1947, at her parents' home in Loda. They were attended by Elroy and Gwen (Hackerson) Ennen, Lois (Ronna) Grohler and Rudy Schaumburg, Jr. They were married by Pastor Molzan.
They are the parents of four children: Linda Niemann, Debbie (Don) Sans and Greg Ennen of Paxton; and Pam (Jim) Bristle of Buckley. They have 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Art is retired from civil service at Chanute Air Force Base after 35 years of employment. He also worked at Marketplace Mall for nine years.
Irma is presently employed as bookkeeper at Rantoul Truck Equipment and formerly served as office manager at the Redwood Inn, Rantoul for 18 years.
They reside at 303 E. Washington, Loda.

LODA - Arthur A. ''Art'' Ennen, 77, of Loda, died Saturday (Sept. 25, 1999) at the Gibson Area Hospital, Gibson City.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the Ford-Baier Funeral Home, Paxton, and from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the 11 a.m. services at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Loda, where he was a charter member. The Rev. Edgar L. Peters will officiate.
Burial, with military graveside rites by the Loda American Legion Post, will be in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Loda.
Memorials may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Loda, or to the donor's choice. He served on the Loda Township board as trustee for many years and also served on the Buckley-Loda school board.
Mr. Ennen was involved in the Loda Homecoming, Bicentennial and the Legion chicken barbecues in the 70s.
He was born Sept. 18, 1922, in Buckley, the son of Claude and Anna Garrelts Ennen. Surviving are his wife, the former Irma Ronna, whom he married Aug. 9, 1947, in Loda; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Linda Niemann of Buckley, Debbie and Don Sans of Paxton, and Pam and Jim Bristle of Buckley; one son, Greg Ennen of Paxton; two sisters, Esther Hartke of Wolcott, Ind., and Wilma Stockton of Hoopeston; 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and four step- great-grandchildren.
Deceased are one great-grandson; one sister; and four brothers.
He attended St. John's Lutheran School and Buckley High School.
Mr. Ennen was employed at Chanute Air Force Base, Rantoul, for 32 years before retiring in 1978. He also worked for many years for D.A. Terry Service station, Loda, and Beasley Oil Co. in Paxton, and in security at Market Place Mall, Champaign.
He was a member of the Lutheran Laymans League and served in various church offices throughout the years.
He was a veteran of World War II serving with the 5th Army in Africa and Italy. He was a member of the Loda American Legion Post 503 serving as financial officer several times; a member of the Disabled American Veterans of Champaign County and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
In the 1950s, he was the coach of the Loda Women's softball team and coached Little League in Loda. He served as Little League Commissioner at Nelson Field in Paxton for several years.
