Merle E. Eimen, 62, Danforth, died at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, 1986, at St.
Joseph's Hospital, Bloomington.
He was born March 16, 1923, at Danforth to Alvah G. and Bertha Wabbena Eimen.
He married Beverly A. Theesfeld on Oct. 16, 1954, at Danforth, and she survives.
Other survivors include four sons, Kenneth of Garden Grove, Calif., Alan of Frankford,
Ind., Randy of Gilman and Eric, at home; four daughters, Mrs. Larry (Gayle) Walsh,
Gilman, Mrs. Phil (Janet) Meyer, Elizabeth, Mrs. Dennis (Sheila) Dickerson, Centralia,
Mo., and Carol Eimen, at home; nine grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Donald
(Shirley) Miller, Danforth.
Mr. Eimen was employed with UARCO at Watseka, retiring after 28 years. He was
currently employed at Kuipers Sales at Gilman as a car salesman.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church at Danforth and the Church Brotherhood,
and was a past president of the Church Council.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was a member and past commander
of Danforth American Legion Post 367. He had served as American Red Cross fund
chairman for Iroquois County; helped organize the Little League at Danforth;
and was a member of the Danforth Park Committee and UARCO Retirees Club.
Mr. Eimen and his wife served as co-presidents of the Danforth Centennial Committee.
The Rev. Raymond Barclay will officiate at services at 11 a.m. Friday at St.
John's Lutheran Church in Danforth. Burial will be in the Danforth Cemetery.
The Danforth American Legion Post will conduct graveside services.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, and for
one hour before services Friday at the church.
Memorial may be made in his name to the donor's choice.
