The child appearing to be "Rebecca" on the 1870 census is clearly, in the 1880 census, Bertha.

However, the date of birth for Bertha Krumwiede, is seriously in question due to a notice in the 18 Dec 1895 edition of either the Buckley Chronicle or the Onarga Leader Buckley News section. It reads: "The Lutheran choir was all a-bustle Saturday evening. Two of their members and one honorary member, the pastor, celebrated their birthday on this day. Miss Ida Wendt was first serenaded. From there the party went to Miss Bertha Krumwiede's house, and finally to Rev. Blanken's. " This suggests that though the date of the month may be correct in our records, that the month is NOT. Unfortunately, Bertha and her husband, August Klann, are not buried at St. John's Cemetery making backup information possible.
