ONARGA -- Carl F. Krumwiede, 84, of Onarga, died today (Jan. 3, 2003) at Iroquois
Memorial Hospital in Watseka.
Arrangements are pending at the Knapp Funeral Home in Onarga.

ONARGA--Visitation for Carl F. Krumwiede, 84, of Onarga, will be from 3-7 p.m.
today at Knapp Funeral Home in Onarga, and from 10 a.m. Monday until the 11 a.m.
service at Onarga Trinity Lutheran Church. Rev. Donald Ehlers will officiate.
Burial will be in Onarga Cemetery, Onarga.
Memorials may be made to Onarga Trinity Lutheran Church or the American Lung
Association.
Mr. Krumwiede died Friday Jan. 3, 2003 at Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka.
He worked for Shell and Mobile Fuel Oil Distributory for 33 years.
He also was past president of Onarga Chamber of Commerce and a former Onarga
Township assessor.
Born Jan. 30, 1913 in Buckley, he was the son of Henry C. and Minna Sprehe Krumwiede.
Surviving are his wife, the former Louise Fritchley, whom he married Feb. 6,
1946 in Buckley, of Onarga; one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Terry Opell
of Vincennes, Inc.; one brother, Fritz Krumwiede of Beardstown; two sisters and
one brother-in-law, Hilda and Louis Ekhoff of Milford, Rosa Weber of Gilman;
three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Nine brothers and five sisters are deceased.
Mr. Krumwiede served with the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member
of the Onarga American Legion and a life member of the Onarga VFW.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Onarga and a past president of
the church board.
He was a Chicago Cubs fan.

2003) at Iroquois Memorial Hospital, Watseka.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Onarga Trinity Lutheran Church, the
Rev. Donald Ehlers officiating. Burial will be in Onarga Cemetery, Onarga. Visitation
will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Knapp Funeral Home, Onarga, and for one hour
before the service Monday at the church.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Krumwiede, Onarga; a daughter, Nancy (Terry)
Opell, Vincennes, Ind.; a brother, Fritz Krumwiede, Beardstown; two sisters,
Hilda (Louis) Ekhoff, Milford; and Rosa Weber, Gilman; three grandchildren; and
eight great-grandchildren.
