Lori Knight, a descentant of John Martin Gross, found among family papers a series of post cards written by Elsie Krumwiede and other family members, addressed to Clara Gross while she was a student in Urbana.The text of some of these cards is on file in my records.

Elsie K KRUMWIEDE and William E. BALK were married on 19 Feb 1920.²⁶⁰ The church record reads: 19 Feb: William Balk to Else Krumwiede." William E. BALK was born on 20 Jan 1892. He died on 13 Jun 1975. He was buried about 16 Jun 1975 in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Buckley, Illinois.¹⁹ Section C, Row 10, Plot 30C American Legion Marker Elsie K KRUMWIEDE and William E.
