George Rankin's land in Augusta County, VA. This land, near the Middle River, was owned by W. R. Rankin's Gr-Gr-grandparents George and Martha Rankin.

Tombstone inscribed "Sacred to the Memory of Robert Poage Immigrant from Ireland 173_, Elder in Augusta Stone Church 1740, Justice First Commission of the Peace Augusta County 1745. Died in 1774. And to the memory of his wife, Elizabeth Preston." Located in the Old Glebe Cemetery, across the highway and creek south of Augusta Stone Church in Ft. Defiance, VA. Stone was replaced by descendants in the 20th century.

William Rankin's stone in the Old Rankin Cemetery (located on private property) near Slabtown where William, his wife Lettice (Robertson), George R. and his wife, Mary, and several of their children are buried including Thomas F. Rankin and his wife, Sarah Ann (Orr).
