Potter Reports

Need help in identifying this woman!
She's most likely a granddaughter of Thomas Potter (1793 Virginia -1871 Kansas) and Celia Jackson (1793 Kentucky -1861 Kansas), possibly a daughter of Moses or Tinsley Potter.  The photo was taken by W. M. Oaks, "photographer - artist,"  at Holton, Kansas.  Although the photo is in the possession of descendants of Andrew J. Potter, we don't think she's one of his daughters.  For comparison, his family appears in other photos found on this page.  Please e-mail me if you have an idea who she is.  [email protected]

MosJesWills Transcription of two entries in the Jefferson Co. KY Will Book 4: at pages 86-87, the will of Moses Potter, and at pages 320-321 the will of Jesse Potter. Moses names his wife Frances and then all his children including sons Jesse and Thomas. Jesse gave a land warrant to his "neice Nancy Potter in Buchanan County, MO." Thus the two wills together prove the Thomas Potter in Buchanan Co. (who has a daughter Nancy living with him) is the son of Moses and Frances Potter of Jefferson Co. KY.
