        (1) Rev. Samuel Stone was a non-conformist preacher in Hereford, England, near Guilford. He left England in 1639 with Rev. Henry Whitford's party. He was the father of:

        (2) William Stone, born about 1608 in Guilford, England. He was a tailor by trade. He kept the first tavern in Guilford, Connecticut. He also owned a farm. He married Hannah Bradley in England before 1639. She died before 1653 in New Haven, Connecticut. William married again in 1659. He died 16 November 1683 in Guilford, Connecticut. Parents of:
 
 
 

        (3) William Stone, born 1642, Guilford, Connecticut, died 28 Spetember 1730, Guilford, Connecticut. On 20 February 1674, he married Hannah Woulfe/Wolfe, who died 28 March 1712. She may have been the daughter of Edward De Wolf/Wolfe and Rebecca Glastonbury of Lynn, Massachusetts. Parents of:

        (5) William Stone, born 22 April 1729 in Woodbury, Connecticut, died after 1790 in Warren, Connecticut. He married 16 September 1753 Martha Hoyt, born 30 January 1737/8, died after 1790, Warren, Connecticut.

  1. Martha, born Connecticut, died either Warren, Connecticut, Deerfield, New York, or Stone Mills, New York; married Braddock Carter, a farmer, born 17 December 1756, Warren, Connecticut, died between 1810 and 1820 in Stone Mills, Jefferson County, New York.
