He married October 18, 1639 in Windsor, Hartford Co. CT, Joan who died July 5, 1659. Mills, Simon, by tradition from Yorkshire, England, owned land in Windsor in 1653. Child of Simon and Joan Mills is: Simon Mills ( -1683) son of of Simon and Joan Mills, was born in England (?), and died July 06, 1683 in Weatauge, East Simsbury, CT. He married February 23, 1659 in Windsor, Hartford Co. CT, Mary Buel, daughter of William and Mary (Post) Buel. He resided in Windsor previous to 1669 and removed and settled at Weatauge, East Simsbury. Whether he was a native of New England or not can not be ascertained; one inference is certain, his father was a native of England. Children of Simon and Mary (Buel) Mills are: John Mills (1668- ) son of Simon and Mary (Buel) Mills, was born June 23, 1668 in Windsor, Hartford Co. CT. He married Abt. 1689 in Simsbury, Hartford Co. CT, Sarah Pettibone, daughter of John and Sarah (Eggleston) Pettibone. Children of John and Sarah (Pettibone) Mills are: Joseph Mills (1697-1783) , son of John and Sarah (Pettibone) Mills, was born December 23, 1697 in Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT, and died April 19, 1783 in West Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. He married 1734 in West Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT, Hannah Adams was born in 1709, she died September 1776. Joseph Mills was the twin of Benjamin. He removed from Meadow Plain, Old Parish to West Simsbury in 1742 or 1743. Of the ten sons of which the family were composed, one was a colonel of militia, three were captains of military companies, and five were captains of military companies, and five were deacons of Congregational churches. He married About 1762 in Connecticut, Ursula Phelps, daughter of Ashbel and Anna (Pinney) Phelps. They resided in Simsbury, until 1794, when he removed to Beckett, Mass. Children of Ezekiel and Ursula (Phelps) Mills are: Ursula Chloras Mills (1766-1835) daughter of Ezekiel and Ursula (Phelps) Mills married (1) October 13, 1785 in Canton, Hartford Co., CT, Daniel Hitchcock, son of Oliver and Thankful (Parker) Hitchcock. She married (2) Aft. 1810 in Hartford Co. CT, Ambrose Cowdery, father of her daughter-in law, Mary "Polly" (Cowdery) Hitchcock, son of Moses and Martha (Bushnell) Cowdrey.
