The McElravy Family of Ireland, Centre and Venango County, Pennsylvania
Cornelius McElravy (1805-1869) was born July 1805
in Centre Co., PA, and died March 16, 1869 in Maple Shade, Venango Co.
PA. Cornelius was married Bef. 1832 to Isobel Henderson. He was married
a second time to Ruth D. Sayers (maiden name unknown, she was previously
married). They are buried at Mt. Zion Cemetary, Maple Shade, Venango Co.,
PA
According to family tradition Cornelius father came from County Cork
in Ireland and immigrated through the port of Philadelphia, PA, he was
a stone mason and settled in Centre Co., PA. We do not know his name but
his mother was "Briget Tolin or O'Tolin or O'Toolan."

Margaret Ann McElravy (1832-1911) born June 21, 1828
in Pennsylvania, died January 01, 1911, Johnston, Trumbull County, Ohio,
daughter of of Cornelius and Isobel Henderson, married November 7, 1850,
in Venango County, Pennsylvania, Daniel Mills Hitchcock (1828-1878), son
of Tidal and Mary (Polly Cowdery) Hitchcock. They resided in Johnston,
