First Generation


1. John Manning. Born about 1615 in England, John Manning sailed from London to Virginia aboard the Globe at the age of 20 in about 1635. On 15 Apr. 1651, John Manning was appointed constable for Southern Branch, Lower Norfolk County. He died in Norfolk County, Virginia before 1672 at the approximate age of 57. He is our 10xGreat Grandfather.

Second Generation


2. John Manning. Born about 1650 in Norfolk County, Virginia, John died in Norfolk County, Virginia in 1715; he was 65. John named his sons in deeds executed in 1713. See a transcription of one. John married Sarah Watford. Sarah died after 1715 in Norfolk County, Virginia.

3. William Manning. Born ? 1689 in Norfolk County, Virginia, William died in Norfolk County, Virginia in 1763; he was 74. William married Mary, who died aft 1763. They are our 8xGreat Grandparents.

7. Mary Manning. Born in Norfolk County, Virginia, Mary died in 1768 in Edgecomb County, North Carolina. Mary married Stephen Batchelor, son of Joseph Batchelor & Mary. Born ? 1702 in Norfolk County, Virginia, Stephen died in Nash County, North Carolina in 1806; he was 104.
