Batchelor


First Generation


1. Richard Batchelor. Born about 164510 in England, Richard was in America by 1658.9 Richard married Ann Biggs, daughter of John and Johanna Biggs. Ann was born 1644/1647 in England. In March 1675/6, Richard Bachelor was granted 700 acres near the head of Deep Creek in Southern Branch, Elizabeth River.11 Richard died in Lower Norfolk County, Virginia in 1682;8 he was about 37. Ann remarried twice and died in Scuppernong, Chowan County, North Carolina after 1711.3
       
  They had the following children:8
       
    i. John. Born in 1665, John died before Nov 1725; he was no more than 60. John married a daughter of George Deane Jr.
       
  2. ii. Joseph (1668-1734).
       
    iii. Edward. Born about 1671 in Norfolk County, Virginia. Edward married Pathelia.3
       
    iv. Richard. Born about 1674 in Norfolk County, Virginia.
       
    v. Alice. Born in 1665/1680 in Norfolk County, Virginia.
       
    vi. Edy. Born about 1680 in Norfolk County, Virginia.
       
  After Richard died, and before 6 Oct 1686, when Ann was 42, she second married a Mr. Shaw. Ann third married James Faux (Fewox).3

Second Generation


2. Joseph Batchelor. Born about 1668 in Norfolk County, Virginia, Joseph died there in 1734; he was about 66. Joseph married Mary, who survived him.
       
  They had the following children:
       
    i. James. Born in 1689/1694 in Norfolk County, Virginia, James died in Norfolk County, Virginia about 1754; he was about 65. James married Elizabeth.
       
    ii. Ann. Born in 1704/1732 in Norfolk County, Virginia. Ann married Richard Harbutt.
       
    iii. Mary. Born in 1706/1734 in Norfolk County, Virginia.
       
    iv. Edith. Born in 1708/1734 in Norfolk County, Virginia.
       
    v. Sarah. Born in 1710/1734 in Norfolk County, Virginia.
       
  3. vi. Stephen (about 1702-1806)

Third Generation


3. Stephen Batchelor. Born about 1702 in Norfolk County, Virginia, Stephen died in Nash County, North Carolina in 1806; he was about 104. Stephen first married Mary Manning, daughter of William & Mary Manning. Born in Norfolk County, Virginia, Mary died in 1768 in Edgecomb County, North Carolina.
       
  They had the following children:

    ii. William. Born in 1744 in Norfolk County, Virginia, William died in Nash County, North Carolina about 1805; he was 61. William married Mary Harper.
       
    iii. Samuel. Born about 1748 in Norfolk County, Virginia, Samuel died in Nash County, North Carolina in Aug 1827; he was about 79.
       
    iv. Solomon. Born in 1750 in Nash County, North Carolina, Solomon died in Franklin County, North Carolina in 1808; he was 58. Solomon married Sarah Boswell.
       
    v. Mary. Born about 1752 in Norfolk County, Virginia, Mary died in Nash County, North Carolina about 1824; she was 72. Mary married Jesse Pridgen.
       
    vi. Margaret. Born about 1755, Margaret died in Nash County, North Carolina in 1838; she was 83.
       
    vii. Joseph. Born about 1758 in Nash County, North Carolina, Joseph died in Nash County, North Carolina about 1820; he was 62. Joseph married Phereby Melton Tucker.
       
  Stephen second married Margaret Creekmore.

Fourth Generation


4. Stephen Batchelor. Born about 1730 in Nash County, North Carolina, Stephen died in Franklin County, North Carolina in 1801; he was about 71. Stephen married Margaret. Born about 1733, Margaret died in 1810; she was about 77.
       
  They had the following children:
       
    i. Joseph. Joseph married Pharaby McCoy.
       
    ii. Mary. Mary married a Mr. Pridgen.
       
    iii. Nancy. Nancy married Timothy Creekmore, son of Solomon & Elizabeth Creekmore. Born in Norfolk County, Virginia, Timothy died in 1834 in Nash County, North Carolina.1
       
    iv. Sarah. Sarah married Abijah Pridgen.
       
    v. Samuel. Born about 1749, Samuel died in Nash County, North Carolina in 1827; he was about 78.
       
    vi. Solomon. Born in 1750/1752, Solomon died in Franklin County, Halifax District, North Carolina after 1790; he was 40. Solomon married Sarah.
       
    vii. Stephen. Born about 1752, Stephen died in North Carolina about 1837; he was 85. Stephen married Sara.
       
    viii. Margaret. Born about 1754 in North Carolina. Margaret married Willis Ward, who was born about 1755 in Norfolk County, Virginia.
       
    ix. William. Born in 1760/1765, William died about 1805.
       
    x. Daniel. Born about 1764. On 27 Aug 1839 when Daniel was 75, he married Mary Elizabeth Creekmore, who was only 17.
       
    xi. Barsheba. Born about 1766. Before 1798 she married Ballentine Creekmore, son of David Creekmore & Frances Ballentine. Born in 1760 in Norfolk County, Virginia, Ballentine died in Whitley County, Kentucky in 1830; he was 70.

5. Elizabeth Batchelor. Born in 1756, Elizabeth died in Whitley County, Kentucky on 1 Sep 1829; she was 73.2 In 1773, when Elizabeth was 17, she married Robert E. Creekmore, son of David Creekmore & Frances Ballentine, in Norfolk County, Virginia.3, 4 Born in 1755/1765 in Norfolk County, Virginia, Robert died in Whitley County, Kentucky on 6 Jul 1824; he was 69.2
       
  They had the following children:

    ii. David B. Creekmore. Born in 1774/1784 in North Carolina, David died in Nash County, North Carolina about 1840; he was about 66. About 1799, when David was 25, he married Martha.
       
    iii. Sarah Frances Creekmore. Born in 1784. On 10 Jul 1817, when Sarah Frances was 33, she married William M. Smith in Washington County, Virginia.
       
  6. iv. Ballentine Batchelor Creekmore. Born on 23 Jan 1784 in Norfolk County, Virginia, Ballentine Batchelor died in Whitley County, Kentucky in 1849; he was 64. He was a shoemaker. On 7 Sep 1807, when Ballentine Batchelor was 23, he married Mary Lemon Brown, daughter of Abel & Elizabeth Brown.7 Born in Jan 1786 in Norfolk County, Virginia, Mary Lemon died in Scott County, Tennessee on 12 Jan 1863; she was 77.
       
    v. Elizabeth Creekmore. Born on 13 Jan 1785, Elizabeth died on 22 Feb 1867; she was 82. Buried in Jellico Creek Cemetery, Whitley County, Kentucky. Elizabeth married William Porch, son of Henry Porch & Rebecca P. Denton. Born on 19 Mar 1791 in North Carolina, William died in Whitley County, Kentucky on 8 Dec 1847; he was 56.
       
    vi. Mary Batchelor Creekmore. Born in 1788 in Nash County, North Carolina. Mary Batchelor married Ezekiel Abbot Porch, son of Henry Porch & Rebecca P. Denton. He was born on 22 Jul 1788.
       
    vii. Celeter Creekmore. Born on 8 Jan 1792 in Nash County, North Carolina, Celeter died in Whitley County, Kentucky on 13 Jan 1866; she was 74. Buried in Jellico Creek Cemetery, Whitley County, Kentucky. On 19 Feb 1821, when Celeter was 29, she married Simon Peter Jones, son of Simon Peter Jones, in Whitley County, Kentucky. Born on 5 Feb 1788 in Halifax County, North Carolina, Simon Peter died in Whitley County, Kentucky on 30 Mar 1879; he was 91.
       
    viii. Robert Warren Creekmore. Born on 8 Jan 1792 in Nash County, North Carolina, Robert Warren died in Calhoun County, Mississippi, on 11 Nov 1869; he was 77. Robert Warren first married Nancy McGowan. Born on 25 Mar 1805, Nancy died on 27 Feb 1853; she was 47. On 10 Mar 1858, when Robert Warren was 66, he second married Eliza McKelvey.
       
    ix. William Ballentine Creekmore. Born on 6 Dec 1797 in Nash County, North Carolina, William Ballentine died in Whitley County, Kentucky on 17 Feb 1890; he was 92. On 14 Mar 1820, when William Ballentine was 22, he married Susan Porch, daughter of Henry Porch & Rebecca P. Denton, in Whitley County, Kentucky.5 Born on 2 Feb 1795, Susan died on 23 Dec 1866; she was 71.
       
    x. John Pinar Creekmore. Born in 1802. On 24 Nov 1829, when John Pinar was 27, he married Harriett Clements, in Knox County, Kentucky.
       
    xi. Elisha B. Creekmore. Born in 1803, Elisha died in Daviess County, Missouri in Mar 1858; he was 55. In 1824, when Elisha B. was 21, he married Margaret Gilreath, daughter of William & Rachel Gilreath.
       
    xii. Henry Newton Creekmore. Born on 12 Jan 1808 in Raleigh, North Carolina, Henry Newton died in Daviess County, Missouri on 2 Dec 1870; he was 62. On 29 May 1829, when Henry Newton was 21, he married Anna A. Blakely, daughter of Jesse Blakely.6 Born on 12 Apr 1810 near Nashville, Tennessee, Anna died in Daviess County, Missouri on 18 Jul 1885; she was 75.6s
