OBITUARY
Jane Burton Kirkman was born in the year of 1844 and departed this life Feb. 16, 1921, in her 77 year. She was married to Ezra Kirkman and to this union were born ten children. Her husband and four children have preceded her to the border land of song.
Mrs. Kirkman was a member of the Christian church and had remained faithful to her church and God till called beyond.
All available means were used for her recovery but her affliction was such as Providence sent forth to call her to sleep of the ever-lasting rest.
She leaves to mourn her departure six loving children who plucked flowers of fragrence that mother might share their beauties with them. She also leaves several grand children besides a host of friends and relatives.
She was a kind and loving mother always ready to help those in need. We are thankful fo rthe record of the life that is closed and the noble life and example, and can truly say "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord"
If we follow in Mother's footsteps it will bring us at last to the morning that has no shadows, the home that has no tears and the land that has no death.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. M. Rine and the remains were laid to rest in Salem cemetery to await the judgment day.

"Our home is sad and lonely today
For Jesus our Saviour has entered
the door and taken dear mother away."
