An ahnentafel report is a listing of one's ancestors, numbered according to generation. On your ahnentafel report, you are number 1, your parents are numbers 2 and 3, your grandparents are numbers 4 through 7, etc. Numbers 8 through 15 are reserved for the generation of your great grandparents whether or not you have information on them. In a typical ahnentafel report, especially one including many generations, some numbers will be missing.
