Anna's Original Poetry

I first began writing poetry when I was around twelve years old. Like most twelve year olds, my early works show my innocence as well as a developing faith in God. I was highly influenced by fantasy writers, such as J. R. R. Tolkien and C. S. Lewis.

My current "mentors" in poetry are Mary Oliver, whose observation of nature and skillful weaving of words inspire me, and Robert Frost, whose cadence and sense of rhythm let my soul soar with his words.

On the following pages you will find some of my attempts to emulate these writers, while remaining true to the nature of my own story.
