Presbytery Minutes reveal the following: Rev. W. C. Crider was received from the Prebytery of Sacramento on April 17, 1923. He had been ordained on May 17, 1907. He was installed as pastor of the Presbyterian Church in Santa Clara on May 10, 1923. He was elected Moderator of Presbytery on April 7, 1925. He was the elected Commissioner to General Assembly in 1926. He adjourned the meeting of May 1927 with prayer. On Feb. 24, 1928 Presbytery sent him greetings while he was ill in the St. Helena Hospital. A new pastor was called to Santa Clara in April 1928. He attended meetings in February and April 1930. He was excused in February 1931. This was the last time he was mentioned. The Presbyterian Church in Santa Clara federated with a Methodist Church in September 1929. Their building burned before or after federation. The Federated congregation reverted back to Methodist and the Presbyterian went out of business. Where their records are is unknown but might be at the San Francisco Theological Seminary in San Anselmo. There is a present-day Santa Clara Church but it is a new beginning. From Lawrence W. He married Margaret Anderson, and together they had three sons and one daughter: Max Vernon Crider, Virginia Crider, Paul Crider, Lloyd Crider. Need help with CRIDER in HI.
