3. Margaret Jean Young was born on 13 August 1912 in Dennison, Tuscarawas County, Ohio. She died on 26 June 2003 in Orlando at age 90, after being operated on for a broken hip; she had suffered from senile dementia (probably Alzheimer disease) for several years. She was a Presbyterian. She was a teacher, a housewife and a wonderful mother. During her youth, she studied piano with the Nuns at the Catholic School in Dennison and became an accomplished pianist. She went to college, one year at Ohio University (Athens) and one at Miami University (Hamilton, near Cincinnatti). She originally intended to study music. At her audition, she played the opening bars of Beethoven's Appassionata Sonata, to the professor's great satisfaction. But when he asked her if she wanted to study music, she replied, "No", so they decided she would become a kindergarten and elementary-school teacher. She taught second grade from 1932 to 1937 in Dennison. She participated in PTAs (often two at once); was active in Park Lake Presbyterian Church Circles, having served as Circle Chairperson; was active as a "Pink Lady" (Hospital Auxiliary); and worked with the Orlando Day Nursery (facilities for children of working mothers). Her first activity, tho, was being a wonderful mother.

4. William Elias O'Neall was born on 25 November 1882 in Waynesville, Warren County, Ohio. He was a Friend (Quaker). He married Eva Irma Ellis, daughter of Dr Jacob Tressler Ellis and Anna Chapman Taylor, on 2 May 1907 in Waynesville. The Great Depression of 1929-1933 and two successive burned barns (1932 and 1933) brought an end to the O'Neall family's residence at The Birches, the ancestral farm in Ohio where they had lived for 134 years. In 1933, the family moved permanently to Florida. where they lived variously at Green Cove Springs, Orlando and Jacksonville, before finally settling (all except Ann), in Orlando. William died on 12 June 1966 in Orlando, Orange County, Florida, at age 83. He was buried in Miami Cemetery, Waynesville, Warren County, Ohio.

5. Eva Irma Ellis was born on 12 December 1885 in Waynesville, Warren County, Ohio. She married William Elias O'Neall, son of Abijah Porter O'Neall and Anna Charlotte Fisher, on 2 May 1907 in Waynesville. Her grandfather, Seth Hocket Ellis had been a Friend (Quaker) but had converted to Methodism; since her husband was a Quaker, she and her three children were received on their request by Miami Monthly Meeting, 30th day of 7th month, 1921. She moved with William Elias O'Neall in 1933 to Florida. Irma died on 18 December 1978 in Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida, at age 93. She was buried in Miami Cemetery, Waynesville, Warren County, Ohio.

6. John Wesley Young was born on 31 December 1871 in Jefferson County, Ohio. He was Methodist. He married Anna Marie Oberholzer on 12 August 1901 in Dennison, Tuscarawas County, Ohio. He was a railroad engineer on the Pennsylvania Railroad. He died on 10 March 1940 in Dennison, Tuscarawas County, Ohio, at age 68. He was buried in Uhrichsville, Ohio.

7. Anna Marie Oberholzer was born on 17 November 1874 in Schneidemühl (now Pila, Poland), Germany. She was born into the Catholic religion. She was a seamstress. She married Henry A. Nagel on 21 April 1898 in Dennison, Tuscarawas County, Ohio. She married John Wesley Young, son of Charles T. Young and Hannah Eliza Stokes, on 12 August 1901 in Dennison, Tuscarawas County, Ohio. She died on 2 June 1958 in Uhrichsville, Ohio, at age 83. She was buried in June 1958 in Union Cemetery, Uhrichsville.

8. Abijah Porter O'Neall was born either 26 October 1824 or 1825 in Waynesville, Warren County, Ohio. He was a Friend (Quaker). He married Anna Charlotte Fisher, daughter of Dr Elias Fisher and Leatitia Haines, on 4 January 1875 in Waynesville. He died on 12 August 1895 in Waynesville after being thrown from his buggy about a week earlier. He was buried on 14 August 1895 in Miami Cemetery, Waynesville.

9. Anna Charlotte Fisher was born on 10 March 1844. She was a Friend (Quaker). She married Abijah Porter O'Neall, son of William O'Neall and Martha Smith, on 4 January 1875 in Waynesville. She died on 28 November 1916 in Waynesville at age 72. She was buried in 1916 in Miami Cemetery, Waynesville.

10. Dr Jacob Tressler Ellis was born on 26 September 1857 in Springboro, Ohio. He was a Methodist. He was an M.D and delivered all of his children and grandchildren and many of his nieces and nephews. He married Anna Chapman Taylor, daughter of Sidwell Taylor and Esther Ann Brown, on 20 September 1882 in Waynesville, Warren County, Ohio. He died on 23 September 1933 in Waynesville at age 75.

11. Anna Chapman Taylor was born on 20 February 1860 in Warren County, Ohio. She was a Friend (Quaker). She married Dr Jacob Tressler Ellis, son of Seth Hockett Ellis and Rebecca Jane Tressler, on 20 September 1882 in Waynesville, Warren County, Ohio. She died on 9 October 1930 in Waynesville at age 70. She was buried on 13 October 1930 in Miami Cemetery, Waynesville.

12. Charles T. Young was born on 28 August 1843. He married Hannah Eliza Stokes, daughter of William H. Stokes Sr and Keziah Vantilburg, on 16 March 1865 in Jefferson County, Ohio. He married an unknown person on 8 January 1889. He died in Toronto, Jefferson County, Ohio.

16. William O'Neall was born on 10 March 1791 in Newberry County (District Ninety-Six), South Carolina. He was a Friend (Quaker) but later a became Methodist. He moved with Abijah O'Neall and Anne Kelly in September 1799 to Waynesville, Warren County, Ohio, where he spent the rest of his life. He was a farmer. He married Martha Smith, daughter of Reverend James Trabue Smith and Elizabeth Porter, on 11 January 1816 in Wayne Township, Warren County, Ohio. William O'Neall died on 18 July 1874 in Waynesville at age 83. He was buried on 19 July 1874 in Miami Cemetery, Waynesville.

17. Martha Smith was born on 1 September 1791 in Powhatan County, Virginia. She was a Methodist. She moved in 1798 to Ohio, where she spent the rest of her life. She married William O'Neall, son of Abijah O'Neall and Anne Kelly, on 11 January 1816 in Wayne Township, Warren County, Ohio. She died on 18 January 1873 in Waynesville at age 81. She was buried on 20 January 1873 in Miami Cemetery, Waynesville.

18. Dr Elias Fisher was born on 10 January 1808 in Salem, Columbiana County, Ohio. He was an M.D. He married Leatitia Haines, daughter of Noah Haines and Anna Silver, on 25 June 1835. He moved after 1845 to Indiana. He died on 25 August 1870 in Richmond, Indiana, at age 62. He was buried on 29 August 1870 in Maple Grove Cemetery, Richmond, Indiana.

19. Leatitia Haines was born on 4 April 1814 in Waynesville, Warren County, Ohio. She was a Friend (Quaker). She married Dr Elias Fisher, son of Joseph Fisher and Hannah (--?--), on 25 June 1835. She died on 12 April 1845 in Warren County, Ohio, at age 31. She was buried on 13 April 1845 in Friends Cemetery, Waynesville, Warren County, Ohio.

20. Seth Hockett Ellis was born on 3 January 1830 on a farm near Martinsville, Clinton County, Ohio. He was a birth-right Friend (Quaker). He moved with Robert Ellis and Anna Hockett to Clinton County, Ohio, circa 1847. He was a farmer. He was disowned by Springborough Monthly Meeting for having joined the Methodists. However, his obituary says that "...he was a genial, lovable, well-educated farmer of the Quaker faith." In addition, for the 1903 Centennial of Miami Monthly Meeting, he was one of the two presiding officers in January 1851. He married Rebecca Jane Tressler, daughter of Jacob Tressler and Sarah Null, on 21 August 1851 in Warren County, Ohio. He died on 23 June 1904 in Waynesville at age 74. He was buried in Miami Cemetery, Waynesville.

21. Rebecca Jane Tressler was a Friend (Quaker) and, later, became a Methodist. She married Seth Hockett Ellis, son of Robert Ellis and Anna Hockett, on 21 August 1851 in Warren County, Ohio. She died on 7 April 1908 in Waynesville, Warren County, Ohio, at age 74. She was buried on 7 April 1908 in Miami Cemetery, Waynesville.

22. Sidwell Taylor was born on 3 November 1813. He was a Friend (Quaker). He married Matilda Kindle on 30 November 1843. He married Esther Ann Brown, daughter of Benjamin Brown and Sarah Chapman, on 8 November 1855 in Waynesville, Warren County, Ohio. He died on 8 May 1897 in Waynesville at age 83. He was buried on 8 May 1897 in Friends Cemetery, Waynesville.

32. Abijah O'Neall is reported to have been born 21or 22 Jan 1762 in Winchester, Virginia. He was a Friend (Quaker). He moved with his parents William O'Neall and Mary Frost in May 1765 to Mudlick, (now Laurens County), South Carolina. He moved with William O'Neall and Mary Frost in 1779 to Bush River, Ninety-Six District, South Carolina. He married Anne Kelly, daughter of John Kelly and Mary Evans, on 9 December 1784 in Bush River, Ninety-Six District, South Carolina. He and Anne Kelly moved in September 1799 to Waynesville, Warren County, Ohio. Abijah O'Neall died on 9 May 1823 in Port William, Ohio, at age 1802. He was buried in May 1823 in Friends Cemetery, Waynesville.

33. Anne Kelly was born on 23 February 1758 in Camden, South Carolina. She was a Friend (Quaker). She married Abijah O'Neall, son of William O'Neall and Mary Frost, on 9 December 1784 in Bush River, Ninety-Six District, South Carolina. She and Abijah O'Neall moved in September 1799 to Waynesville, Warren County, Ohio. She died on 21 April 1831 in Warren County at age 73. She was buried in Friends Cemetery, Waynesville.

34. Reverend James Trabue Smith was born on 17 September 1757 on his father's farm in Powhatan County, Virginia. He was a Methodist. He married Elizabeth Porter, daughter of John Porter and Sarah Watkins, 9 or 19 Mar 1779 in Powhatan County. "He and his brothers became preachers... It is not believed that he ever had any definite pastoral charge [Virginia Cousins]." He moved to Middletown Station, Hamilton County, Ohio, between September 1798 and November 1798. He died on 28 July 1800 in Hamilton County at age 42 of "bilious fever." He was interred in a burying-ground on Philip Gatch's farm, Ohio.

35. Elizabeth Porter was born 1 or 06 Dec 1762. She married Reverend James Trabue Smith, son of Thomas Smith and Magdalen Trabue, 9 or 19 Mar 1779 in Powhatan County. She died on 1 January 1824. She was buried in Miami Cemetery, Waynesville.

38. Noah Haines was born on 6 February 1781 in Frederick County, Virginia. He was a Friend (Quaker). He moved circa 1807 to Old Town, Greene County, Ohio. He married Anna Silver, daughter of Seth Silver and Mary Noblit, on 22 June 1808 in Old Town, Greene County, Ohio. "Noah Haines was appointed Indian Commissioner, and his eldest daughter said that she could remember the tepees [sic] on the hillside when the Indians came to collect their annual allowance. He was a successful merchant in Waynesvillle and Postmaster from 1817 until his untimely death in 1834." [Aron and Mary Wright]. He died of tuberculosis (as did nearly all his immediate family) on 19 July 1834 in Waynesville, Warren County, Ohio, at age 53. He was buried on 20 July 1834 in Friends Cemetery, Waynesville, but was later moved to Miami Cemetery.

39. Anna Silver was born on 20 March 1786 in Salem, New Jersey. She was a Friend (Quaker). She moved with her father, Seth Silver, in 1804 to Waynesville, Warren County, Ohio. She married Noah Haines, son of Robert Haines and Margaret (--?--), on 22 June 1808 in Old Town, Greene County, Ohio. She died on 13 September 1849 in Waynesville, Warren County, Ohio, at age 63. She was buried on 15 September 1849 in Miami Cemetery, Waynesville.

40. Robert Ellis was born on 25 September 1794 in Greene County, Tennessee. He was a Friend (Quaker). He moved with Nehemiah Ellis and Sarah Thornbrough circa 1812 from Tennessee to Warren County, Ohio. He married Susannah Lewis, daughter of Enoch Lewis and Sarah (--?--), on 20 November 1817 in Clear Creek Meeting House, Clinton County, Ohio. 64. William O'Neall was born on 5 November 1734 in Christiana, Delaware. He moved with Hugh O'Neall and Anne Cox circa 1750 to "the Susquehanna." He was a Friend (Quaker). He was a farmer, a wagoner and a miller. He married Mary Frost, daughter of John Frost and Mary (--?--), on 6 July 1761 in Winchester, Frederick County, Virginia. He and Mary Frost moved in May 1765 to Mudlick, (now Laurens County), South Carolina. He and Mary Frost moved to Bush River, Ninety-Six District, South Carolina, in 1779. He died on 5 November 1786 in Bush River at age 52. John Belton O'Neall wrote, "William died on Bush river; his body rests in the graveyard of Friends, near Mendenhall's Mills."

65. Mary Frost was a Friend (Quaker). Hopewell Monthly Meeting records the marriage of Sarah Frost, daughter of John Frost, on "26th day of 6th month, 1755; at Opeckan." Among the witnesses was Mary Frost, who also witnessed the marriage of Sarah Milburn on "7th day of 5th month, 1761..." It is assumed from this conjunction of date and place that this is the Mary Frost who married William Neill/O'Neall on 6th day of 7th month of the same year, 1761. She married William O'Neall, son of Hugh O'Neall and Anne Cox, on 6 July 1761 in Winchester, Frederick County, Virginia. She and William O'Neall moved in May 1765 to Mudlick, (now Laurens County), South Carolina. She and William O'Neall moved to Bush River, Ninety-Six District, South Carolina, in 1779.

66. John Kelly was born in Kings County (now County Offaly), Ireland. He was a Friend (Quaker). He and his brother, Samuel Kelly, immigrated with their sister, Abigail, circa 1750 to what is now Newberry County, South Carolina. He married Mary Evans, daughter of Robert Evans, circa 1755 in Camden, South Carolina. He died in November 1775 in Newberry District, South Carolina.

67. Mary Evans was born in 1735 in Pennsylvania. She was a Friend (Quaker). She married John Kelly, son of Timothy Kelly, circa 1755 in Camden, South Carolina. She moved circa 1775 to Ninety-Six District, South Carolina. She married Zebulon Gaunt on 2 November 1780 in Ninety-Six District, South Carolinia. 68. Thomas Smith. Originally a member of the Church of England, he and his family became Methodists in 1772. He married (--?--) Rapin. He married (--?--) Stovall. He married Magdalen Trabue, daughter of Antoine Trabuc and Magdalene Verrueil, on 15 October 1756 in Virginia. He died in Powhatan County, Virginia.

69. Magdalen Trabue was born on 31 August 1715 in Henrico County, Virginia, of French Huguenot descent. She married Major Peter Guerrant in 1732. She married Thomas Smith, son of George Smith and Ann Bailey, on 15 October 1756 in Virginia. She died on 16 August 1787 in Powhatan County, Virginia, at age 71.

All the information concering Robert Haines' family in the Crooked Run Monthly Meeting records "seem to have been entered by Robert himself. No formal records had been kept by Crooked Run Meeeting before 1775, and at that time all members were asked to enter the information about their own families." [Aron and Mary Wright]. He married Esther Wright on 12 February 1767 in Opeckan Meeting House, Frederick County, Virginia. He married Margaret (--?--) on 12 April 1780 in Crooked Run Meeting House, Warren County, Virginia. He died in 1796 in Virginia.

She married Robert Haines, son of Bethany Haines and Mary (--?--), on 12 April 1780 in Crooked Run Meeting House, Warren County, Virginia. Three documents written by John Belton O'Neall around 1850 are the original and still principal sources of information concerning the birth, family affiliation, immigration, marriage and death of Hugh O'Neall. They are all secondary sources, written by the great-grandson of the subject, about 100 years after the subject's death. More recently, additional information has been supplied by researchers who -- unfortunately -- have not always indicated their own sources of information. According to them, Hugh O'Neall was born on 3 January 1698 in Shane's Castle, County Antrim, Ireland. He immigrated circa 1730 to Christiana, Delaware. According to family tradition, he deserted from the British Navy by jumping over board in the Delaware River and swimming to shore. His religion, which might provide a means of pursuing his origins (two of his sons having been Quakers), is mentioned nowhere. He is reported as having married Anne Cox on 10 June 1732 in Christiana, Delaware. He and Anne Cox are also reported to have moved circa 1750 to "the Susquehanna" accompanied by their children, William, Henry, John, Thomas, Hugh and James. According to John Belton O'Neall, he died in 1754 in the region of the Susquehanna.

129. Anne Cox is reported as having married Hugh O'Neall on 10 June 1732 in Christiana, Delaware. She and Hugh O'Neall are also reported to have moved circa 1750 to "the Susquehanna" accompanied by their children, William, Henry, John, Thomas, Hugh and James. She died in 1764 in Virginia.
