Church Trip to Mt. Vernon, Va.
Because this photograph was made in panoramic format it had to be split in two with some of the people overlapping in both parts. It was also torn on the right side and looked as if there could have been other people in this tour group. The caption reads Sunday Schools of Washington, N.C. at Mt. Vernon, Va. June 14 [year torn away]. This photo, among many others, was found in the attic of Hattie Bell Watson Lesko by Lillian Masch who so graciously submitted them. Hattie Bell Watson Lesko lived in Swan Quarter so Lillian assumed other members in the picture are from Hyde as well. The only person that Lillian's mother could identify in the above photo was the lady on the front row extreme right in the bottom picture right before the tear--this was Hattie Bell Watson Lesko.
