Albert Cartwright Credle was born February 5, 1882, the son of George Tilson Credle and Martha Etta May Cartwright. He died April 18, 1972 and is buried in the Credle-Williams Cemetery near Rose Bay Fork in Hyde County. Albert married Sallie Mary Gibbs, daughter of Henry Wise Gibbs and Cora Eva Carawan. Sallie was born December 22, 1893 and died December 24, 1936. She is also buried in the Credle-Williams Cemetery. Albert and Sallie Mary Gibbs Credle had the following children:

• Thelma Gladys Credle was born October 30, 1912 in Rose Bay.
• Sidney Arthur Credle was born June 19, 1916.
• Edith Pearl "Sissy" Credle was born April 9, 1919 in Rose Bay and died March 25, 1960.
• Albert Bryce Credle was born July 7, 1924.
