HOW TO SUBSCRIBE
Good News: If you are interested in the genealogy and history of the Kirwan family, please join with us. Our discussions list is open to anyone researching any spelling variations of the Kirwan name, covering any time period and any geographical location.
To subscribe to the list in Mail Mode,* send an Email message to:
that contains the word
Subscribe
in the Text area, and nothing else. .
If you prefer Digest Mode*, you should Email the Subscribe command instead to:
* Mail
Mode - you receive each email sent to the list individually.
* Digest
Mode - you receive several emails at once as a digest, with a table
of contents.
HOW TO SEND A MESSAGE
Once you are Subscribed, to send a Message to the List, Email it to:
!!! Please put the Subject of your Message in the Subject Line !!!
This will let others know what your message is about.
* For those of you who have more that one Email address, you can only submit a message to the list using the address you subscribed with. If you use any other Email address, your message will "bounce" and will not be delivered to the list.
HOW TO UNSUBSCRIBE
To unsubscribe, follow the steps above, except enter the command, " unsubscribe " (without the quotes) in the Text and Email to:
(if in Mail Mode) or
(if in Digest Mode.)
NOTE: If you Subscribed in the Mail Mode, you must Unsubscribe in the Mail Mode; and if you Subscribed in the Digest Mode, you must Unsubscribe in the Digest Mode. To switch from one mode to the other, you should unsubscribe from one and then subscribe to the other. If you want messages to stop, you should simply unsubscribe.
OTHER SUGGESTIONS
* Please send messages to the list as
Plain Text;
* Please place your
Name and Email Address at the end of your message;
* "DO NOT" send Attachments
or GEDCOM files to the list;
* Please turn off all Signature files;
* Please use Capital Letters *Only* as you
normally would, and in the spelling of Surnames, such as KIRWIN. Otherwise,
using all Caps is considered shouting.
* This is a list for the History and Genealogy
of our Surname. Please - no messages on other subjects, such as Virus Warnings
(which are usually a hoax), Current Events, or of a Commercial nature.
* Please, no Flame Wars ! If there are any
disagreements, please direct them to each other or to the List Manager
"privately," and not on the List.
