Green McGowan, born about April 1860 in White Co., TN. He was still at home with his parents in Caldwell Co., KY in 1880. Green was married twice, the first time in Christian Co., KY on Nov. 10, 1880 to Sarah M. Naves. Green and Sarah were the parents of one daughter, Ida. Then, on Mar. 8, 1893, he married to Jane "Ollie" Carpenter in Rutherford Co., TN. She had been born about Apr., 1871 in TN. A family story says that Green was a rough sort and a bootlegger who always carried a gun. It is believed that he was killed by persons unknown (aft. 1920). Green's and Ollie's children were: Floyd E., Hezzie G., Lila, Acy Green and Julia McGowan.
