1813-1814 Attended the Medical College in Baltimore, Maryland. He was there
in 1814 when General Ross of the British Army Threatened Baltimore.
His Plantation burned in 1838, after which he sold it and moved to Lancaster
Richard Baxter Ervin Memoir puts date of death as September 1849
"A Baxter Family from South Carolina" puts date of death as Sept 5, 1845

died Sept. 5, 1849 in Lancaster County to which place he had migrated from near Kingstree. Buried in a family graveyard, in Lancaster Co., on the old Ervin place which became known as the old Wesley Beckham place. Stone still there, in the Pleasant Hill section Lan. Co. He was a practicing physician. He married on July 20, 1813, to Louisa Agnes Martha Stukes who was born May 19, 1797, and died July 1, 1885, in Walhalla, S. C. where she was making her home with her son, William F. Ervin.
