[234] Obituary for Harvey Hackley Sr. for 1930 from unknown newpaper clip.

The funeral services for the last Harvey Hackley was held Tuesday morning at nine o'clock in St. Joseph's church with Fr. H. A. Darche officiating and burial was made in Mount Calvary cemetary. The deceased was born April 12, 893 in Earl Park, Ind., and with his parents moved here about 1902. He was a graduate of the local high school class of '17 of which class he was president and was always a favorite. In July of 1917, he enlisted in the U. S. army and served twenty months of which twelve months was over seas. Serving in six major battles during which time he was gassed. In 1921 he was united in marriage to Miss Margaret LaFleur. To this union four children were born, one dying in infancy. Mr. Hackley has been employed on the Kankakee street car line for a number of years where he made a host of griends. He was a member of the American Legion and played in the drum corps. The deceased was buried with military honors and was one of the first world war veterans from here to pass away. He leaves to mourn his early death his widow and three small children, one brother, Harry of Detroit, Mich., other relatives and a large circle of friends. Among those attending the funeral from out of town was Mrs. Hannah Crinkenbier and Mrs. Elizabeth Funk of Chicago, Mrs. L. W. Lemaster of Goodland, Ind., Mr. and Mrs. John Merz and family and Miss Bernice Lemaster of Joliet, Mr. and Mrs Peter Tuntland of Buckingham and E. Hackley of Earl Park, Ind.

[236] Married in St. Joseph Church in Parsonage in Bradley Illinois because Margaret Beatrice LaFleur was a Protestant and couldn't get married in the Church then. (they can now). "Father Darche"

Irene wored with me (Margaret) at Bear Brand factory.

Irene Miller was her maiden name.

We (margaret and irene) worked at the Bear Brand Factory, after Irene died, her husband married again, she and her husband stood up for Harvey Sr. and I.
