U.S. Census of 1870 - RHODE ISLAND

Note: It is believed that Constantine was also a Hollingworth, not a
Hollingsworth, although a name change may have been forced on him by
Dame Circumstance. He appears to be of the Woodstock, Connecticut fam-
ily.  See HR Sept 1968 p 117 for 1850 reading, aged 15, born "Mass";
and HR Sept 1971 p 112 for 1860 age 26, born Mass, wife Phebe B. born
Conn.
There were two Elijah's, both wife Ann, (wouldn't ya know!) making it
dangerous to assert anything here. The above Elijah and wife Ann seem?
certainly to be the couple of that name who came in steerage aboard
the ship "City of Washington," manifest dated 25 Aug 1857, Peter C.
Petrie, master, List 1017, Liverpool to New York per HR June 1971, p.
60. Another such couple arrived on the Ship Kanzaroo James M. Jeffrey
master, manifest 7 Sept 1857 same HR and page, all about same age. Now
which is the above couple? See also HR Sept 1974 p 86 where the above
couple are listed in Smithfield, R.I. in 1860, no question there.
    Totals of Rhode Island, 1870: We did not have to read it page by
page, and hope AISI found all of our surname! M-593, rolls 1471-1480,
10 rolls, five volumes of manuscript, 5,658 pages of manuscript.
