These are on SLC film 881662, a purchased copy of National Archives 
film M-534 roll 42, Hog-Holl cards.  These cards were made from the 
old muster rolls of the U.S. Civil War. (Trying to get copies of the 
actual muster lists can be quite exasperating.  They are not filmed, 
in poor condition, and are under control of special archivists at the 
NARS.  Not to be recommended, unless you have the tenacity of a wol-
verine with a honey-coated diplomat's tongue.) For years your editor 
has wanted to see these but finances forbade it.  Now, the entire set 
is being accessed at this branch, and all he has to do is copy it and 
type it for you. If you spy a name of interest, write NARS, not HR! 
All spellings have been scanned.  These are volunteers, not U.S. Regu-
lars.
