Census Omission, Clay County, Kentucky, 1810

Census omission: Kentucky 1810, Clay County, page 155.

Jas Hollinsworth, 10100 - 00100 (1 male under 10; 1 male of 16 and under 26; 1 female of 16 and under 26). Omitted in our survey of HR Oct 1965.

Accelerated Indexing Systems Kentucky 1810 index, p. 378, which gives all statistics, lists Susannah Hollingsworth in Shelby County, on page 198 as 11210-03010 whereas HR Oct 1965 gives here with 01210-00301. Upon a re-examination we find HR is correct. The surveyor for AIS mistook the tail-end of the surname viz "th" which intrudes into the lst male column, to represent the stroke of the pen, and somehow shifted the whole situation making Susanna ten years younger! Other than these, AIS came up with same 1810 Kentucky findings as HR. They are to be thanked for finding James.
