(It appears we did not take into consideration in 1968 the fact that Deed Book V contains the deeds which ought to be in B or C - Editor. The films were rented by another patron and the General Index film was not among them so we just read each book, A, B, C, etc. V was not among them. Poor excuse!) (7) Book V, p. 438. Indenture dated ____ 1808 from WILLIAM HOLLINGSWORTH to Elijah Powell. $100.00 Fifty acres, the same legal description in Item 1 above. (Proved by John Reed, a witness, before the August Term of 1811 per Minutes, Pleas & Quarter Sessions.) (8) Indenture 12 Sept. 1808, from Joseph Calloway to VINCENT HOLLINSWORTH for $5.00 "Situate on the North Side of the North Fork of New River be the same more or less bounded as follows, Beginning at a Stake on the North Bank of said River running West thirty poles to a stake then south fifty poles to a stake on the River Bank, then down the meanders of said River to the first station." (Elisha Callaway (sic) proved this deed as a witness thereto before the November 1811 session of the court. The name is "VINSON" in these minutes.) V p.490. Joseph B. Bunyard and Elisha Collins, wits. R.P.H. (9) Indenture dated 28 November 1808 from William Gray to WILLIAM HOLLINSWORTH, for 165 acres at $150.00 Book V, p. 496. "A certain tract of land lying and being on the waters of the North Fork of New River containing by estimation one hundred and sixty five acres be the same more or less. Beginning at a Beach (sic) in the conditional line between Calloway and WILLIAM HOLLINGSWORTH, tunning along said line to the River in the conditional line of VINCENT HOLLINGSWORTH, then up the meanders of said River to the old line Reed Corner then South with the Reed Line one hundred poles to a stake in Ambros Collins, then East with his line to a stake in McLains line, then North with his line fifty six poles to a Spanish Oak his corner then East with his line one hundred sixty poles to a Maple his corner then South fifty six poles to a stake in Collins line, then East with his line sixty six poles to a stake, then North to the conditional line of the first beginning, then to the first station." Indenture dated 22 March 1808, from WILLIAM HOLLINSWORTH to James Reed, "A Certain parcel of land lying on the North Fork of New River containing one hundred and thirty five acres be the same more or less, Beginning at a Hickory stump the old corner running West sixty two poles to a Beach, then North thirty five East twenty poles to the River Bank, then North thirty west up said River to the mouth of a Branch, then North up said Branch one hundred and thirty poles to the Old Line, then east eighty two poles to the old corner, then to the first station, for $200.00 (This deed follows next item but was recorded first - Ed.) (Proved in Feb. Court 1812.) (11) Book V, p. 500. Indenture dated 22 Mar 1808. VINCENT HOLLINSWORTH to WILLIAM HOLLINSWORTH. 135 acres for $200.00 - same land in Item 10.
