TWO HOLLINGSWORTH WILLS FROM UNION DISTRICT, SOUTH CAROLINA


     (1) The Last Will & Testament of Benjamin Hollingsworth.

     "IN THE NAME 0F GOD AMEN

     "I Benjamin Hollingsworth Senr, Calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed once for all men to die, do make and ordain this my last will and testament, Item first I give my soul unto the hands of the Almighty God from whence it came, Item Second that my family should have me disently buried, Item third I give unto my Son Aquilla Hollingsworth one Shilling St. I give unto Benjamin Hollingsworth Junr my son one Shilling Sterling. I give unto my Daughter Phibe Hozans (?) one Shilling Sterling. I give unto my son Absalum Hollingsworth one Shilling sterling - I give unto my son Elias Hollingsworth one Shilling Sterling - I give unto my daughter Bhoda Morris one Shilling Sterling - Item fourth the ballance of my estate, Except one certain bay horse by the name of Uris and Saddle & bridle is to gou to my widow Phibe Hollingsworth extra of one fourth of my estate the ballance of my estate to be equally divided into four parts and my Widow Phebe one fourth part and the other three parts equally divided among my three youngest Children, that is, Perce, (sic) Milley, and Mary Hollingsworth - Item fifth that my mother, Dinah Hollingsworth is to be Supported as long as She continues with the family out of my estate provided the children that is the youngest cannot agree within themselves to divide the land and any one of them can pay up the others part in money that one is to have the land and if not Sell it - my will is that this division among the three children and my widow Should be when my son Perce (sic) Hollingsworth Comes of the age of twenty one years, in witness whereof I have this day 14th of February 1816 - set my hand & seal - (page 4) And I do hereby appoint and ordain the under named men my lawfull executors to this my Last will and testament (Viz.) Spilsby Glenn, Lathan Sims, and my wife Phibe Executrix -

     "IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN

     I Jacob Hollingsworth, Senr calling to mined the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed once for all men to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament. Item first I give and recommend my soul unto the Almighty God from whence it came and my body to be deasently buried by my friends, Item Second that all my Just debts be paid if any there by. Item third that my Son Daniel, Abraham, & Amous Hollingsworth are left one Shilling Sterling of my estate and Hannah Ashford my daughter one Shilling Sterling out of my estate and Martha Mccrson (?) my daughter one Shilling Sterling out of my estate. Item fourth, that Jacob Hollingsworth, Junr are left one blanze mare and The bed and furniture. Item fifty that my Grand daughter Nelly Smith Shall enjoy and possess
