3. Proof of Heirship, IN THE COUNTY COURT IN AND FOR PUSHMATAHA COUNTY..STATE OF OKLAHOMA.In the matter of the estate of Melvina Impson, deceased.ORDER APPROVING FINAL REPORT.On this the 4th day of October 1918, came regularly on for hearing the final report of Isaac J. Impson, the administrator of the estate of Melvinia Impson, deceased, the petitioner appeared in person and by his attorney in support of said report and no one appearing in opposition to said report and no objections or exceptions having been filed to said report. And it appearing to the Court that said hearing has been duly given as required by law and the order of this Court. The Court after examining said report and hearing the evidence of the witnesses in open Court in support of said report and for a determination of the heirs to said estate and being well and fully advised in the premises finds that said deceased, Melvina Impson, died intestate in Pushmataha County, Oklahoma, on or about the 11th day of February 1911. That at the time of her death the only property owned by her was a part of her allotment as in member of the Choctaw and Chickasaw Tribes of Indians, that same was mortgaged to L. Silverman, that the heirs to said estate were all adults and sold said allotment and paid said mortgage debt in full, and that said estate owes no debts and that there is no property belonging to said estate and that said administrator never as such administrator received any funds belonging to said estate. The Court further finds that at the time of the death of said Melvina Impson, she left the following heirs and no others, her husband, Isaac J. Impson, who was entitled to one third of her estate, and the following children, Ida Johns, Herritt Impson and Emmizon Impson, each of said children are entitled to two ninths of her estate. It is therefore ordered, adjudged and decreed by the Court that said final report of said administrator be and the same is here. Subitted by Teresa Wheeler Young.

68. Antlers Democrat, Oct. 5, 1900, Nicholas Anderson, 3 miles north of town, shot and killed his half-brother Ben Anderson and then himself. Both were buried together Tuesday. (This was the second brother he had killed).FRONT PAGE.WHISKEY was the cause of the double tragedy near this city, Sunday evening, as is the case in most all classes of crime, except that of larceny. The Indian Territory has the most stringent laws regulating the introduction of and traffic in whiskey of any state in the Union. The punishment for the introduction, even the smallest amount, of any intoxicating drink of any kind into this country is from one month in jail to five years in the penitentiary, and yet that law is violated daily. Why? Because the punishment is so severe it is hard to get a grand jury to indict and still harder to get a petit jury to convict. If the introduction of whiskey were made a misdemeanor and triable before a commissioner, there would be no trouble in obtaining a conviction. The carrying of a pistol is a misdemeanor, and those who carry them are much more cautious to keep them concealed than a bottle of whiskey, when it is a felony to have the latter. A law cannot be successfully enforced when nineteen twentieths of the men who compose the grand and petit juries violate it themselves. It is the duty of congress to modify the liquor law for this country.Page 4DOUBLE TRAGEDY. Kills His Brother and Then Blows His Own Brains Out. Late Sunday evening about three miles north of town, Nicholas Anderson, a full blood Choctaw, while on a drunken spree, shot and killed Ben Anderson, his half-brother, then, with the same gun, shot his own brains out. He lived until Tuesday morning, although his brains were oozing out all the time he was conscious up to the time of his death, but could not speak as one entire siPublished in "THE ANTLERS DEMOCRAT".The newspaper was available during in 5 January 1900 to 7 January 1901.(5 October 1900.
