This page is dedicated to
recording the descendants of Hunt ancestors who arrived in the northeastern United States
prior to 1810. This information is freely borrowed from existing compilations, plus what
I have gathered in my searches. Sources were not always recorded, but when available,
are mentioned. This information is intended to help Hunt researchers in their
genealogical pursuits. All information is presented to share but must not be accepted
as the final word without source documentation, and may not be uploaded to other sites. Links to this site are welcome.

Acknowledgements: The late Mitchell J. Hunt (03 Sep 1918 - 30 March 2012) has provided much encouragement and support (and corrections). His scholarly compilations are found in most major genealogical libraries. Mitchell Hunt: "Major, USAF (retired, 37 years active duty and reserve, including intelligence, public relations, historical, civil defense and radiological officer), had 33 years service as researcher, director and editor of studies of local government, financial administration, demographics and school planning in Pennsylvania. He is a long time member of Genealogical Society of Vermont, engaged in genealogical work 32 years. His current emphasis on all Hunt families of America - a long-term sorting process with enormously beneficial results to all researchers." Source: Vermont Genealogy, vol. 2, no. 4, October 1997.
The late Sanford B. Hunt (18 Oct 1915 - 17 Dec 2003) has generously provided Hunt researchers with access to his extensive files for years, both on and off the internet. Sanford Hunt Biography Sandy had contributed most of the Jonathan of Northampton information found on this page. Thanks to you both.
