Abel O. Woodward came to Hornby from Dix in the 1860s and lived there until his death in 1909. He is buried in Ferenbaugh with his first wife Ethel Linda C. and his second wife Deborah Delia. Also buried with them is a daughter Minnie Belle who died in 1880 at the age of twenty-two. Michael O'Brien recently sent me six photographs and one was of Minnie Belle with the notation, "Class of '78".

Another was Amanda Delaney b. 1873 who was not a Hornby girl but her mother was Sarah Jane Fero, great granddaughter of Petrus.

The only other photo in the group that was identified is that of Alonzo B. Ferguson of Corning.

Alonzo B. Ferguson (1824-1900)

Alonzo's son William married Celia Adams whose father Samuel was a voice music teacher in Corning. He was killed in 1895 by a train that struck a carriage in which he was riding. His wife Maria Covenhoven died the same day. There is a mystery. What is the relationship between the Fergusons and Adams and the two women pictured above? They apparently belonged to Celia (Adams) Ferguson and have been passed down to Michael, her second great-grandson.
