The Rogers Family


George Woodruff Rogers was born 7 May 1824 in Covert, Seneca County, NY. As a young man he worked for Loren A. Ensworth, a lumberman in Painted Post and later Williamsport, PA, and married his daughter, Lydia Emeline Ensworth 1 August 1859 in Harrisburg, PA. In Williamport Mr. Ensworth and his new son-in-law operated a sawmill. Mr. Ensworth died in 1867 but the family stayed on in Pennsylvania until 1877 when they returned to Hornby.

George and Lydia had four children, the first of which died as an infant.
