James Moody b. 1813 CT appeared in the 1850 Hornby census, having been in Erwin in 1840 as were his wife Jane’s parents Daniel and Phoebe (Rowley) Blakeslee. By 1860 James was in Elmira, by 1870 in Douglas County, IL and by 1880 in Genesee County MI where he died in 1887. Jane b. 1819 NY continued to live there and died a few months short of her hundredth birthday.

Two of their children remained in New York, Mary J. who married Eli Personius of Catlin and John K. who married Ida Swarthout and lived in Orange. John and Ida’s son Bert married Hornby’s Katie Lake, daughter of Isaac and Gitty (Sample) Lake.
