This is a complete transcription from the National Archives and Records Administration's Record Group 217, "Records of the Third Auditor." The series title is "Settled Accounts for Payment of Accrued Pensions (Final Payments)." The following is from File 5460, in Box 63, and is the claim of the widow of James Hooper of Dekalb County, Georgia for payment of his accrued benefits.

Mrs. Elizabeth Hooper, the widow, herself applied for a widow's pension based on her husband's Revolutionary Service. Her application papers (in NARA Record Group 15) for the widow's pension include information from the Hooper family Bible. When Elizabeth died, her heirs applied for payment of her accrued benefits from the widow's pension. Their application is found in Box 72, File 12519 of Record Group 217 and will be transcribed separately.

  • death date of James Hooper,
  • fact of James Hooper's Dekalb County residence for 11 years before his death,
  • mention of James Hooper's prior residence in Franklin County, Georgia
  • given name of the widow

Inline comments, explanatory notes, or questionable readings are enclosed in [] square brackets. Line breaks correspond to those in the original documents. All underlining is present in the original.
