My information is that Peggy JUZAN married an unknown TRAHERN. Her children were Jerry ... Amelia ... Letha and James N. TRAHERN. I am told that Jerry and James N. can be verified but I have no proof. Amelia and Letha can be verified but the American State Papers, when upon the death of Wesley Trahern, there was a mixup because Wesley had two daughters were Amelia and Letha. Can anyone straighten this up.

The Trahern's I know of were from Mississippi and moved back and forth between Oklahoma and Mississippi. Here's what I know. The first William Trahern came from Virgina through Tennessee to Mississippi. He married Delia BRASHEARS, a granddaughter to Chief Leflore. (My recent research, however, is leading me in the direction of Zadoc Brashears.) They had two daughters (Amelia and Letha) ... and three sons (William, Wesley and Washington). The second William married Rebecca Long. They had two daughters (Laura and Hanna) ... and three sons (Joe, Joel Paten and Wert Breckenridge). My ggrandfather was Wert Trahern who was married to Clara COWDEN. .

Seeking info on Major William TRAHERN from Pittsylvannia County VA, son of Nehemiah Trahern. Some of William's brothers were James ... Wesley ... John and Samuel. He had several sons, one being William Jr. who married my g-g-g-grandmother Rebecca LONG, daughter of Felicity LeFlore Long. William Jr. and Rebecca lived in what is Holmes County (Mississippi) until after the Civil War, then sometime afterwards moved to Oklahoma. Their son was born in Louisiana in 1812. Hannah DELOACH, their daughter (my gggrandmother) is considered 1/4 Choctaw Indian. She is buried in a small cemetery that she gave land to have established in Non, Oklahoma.

My ggrandfather was Dr. Samuel Chase Trahern who married three times. To second wife Adele WEEKS was born Louisa Trahern who married my ggrandfather William HOLDER. Upon Adele's death, Dr Trahern married Calvin THOMASON's wife, Melissa CARROL (whose daughter Melissa Jeanette married my grandfather B.F. Holder) ... thereby becoming my mother's GRANDFATHER as well as STEP GREAT GRANDFATHER (?)
Samuel Chase TRAHERN, b. 28 Nov 1826 in Catahoula Parish LA, d. 14 Jan 1907 in Franklin Parish LA. Trying to establish Joel Trahern as Samuel's father. Joel was old enough ... he bought land in 1820 and 1821 in Catahoula Parish LA ... while his residence was listed in Concordia Parish. On the 1830 Catahoula Parish census, Joel had this listing: Males in household: 1 (under 5) [Samuel b. 1826] ... 1 (10-15 yrs) ... 1 (15-20 yrs) ... and 1 (30-40 yrs). Females: 1 (under 5) ... 2 (5-10 yrs) ... 1 (10-15 yrs) ... 1 (30-40 yrs). Female slaves: 1. Total 10 in household. On the 1880 Franklin Parish LA census, Samuel Trahern said he was b. in Louisiana ... his father (Joel?) was b. in Maryland ... his mother was b. in South Carolina. This was repeated in the 1900 census.

I have more information but I got a new computer and forgot to send everything over to the new computer. I have a cousin who is researching the Trahern family and as soon as I can get with him I will find out more.
The TRAHERN children were Joe ... Joel ... Wert ... Hannah ... and Laura. Their father was William Trahern who married Rebecca LONG. TRAHERNs on the Dawes Rolls: William Trahern, male age 10 (1/2 Choctaw) #7873 ... Loren Trahern, male age 19 (1/2 Choctaw) #7872 ... and Martha Trahern, female age 14 (1/2 Choctaw) #7874. All of these are on census card number #2697. Hannah, Joe and Joel are buried in Non, Oklahoma. Hannah gave part of her Indian land to the town for the cemetery. I just visited there a few weeks ago; my father is buried there too.

Nehemiah Trahern, born 1725 in either Maryland or Virginia, married Amelia born 1746. In 1776 he and his family are shown in Maryland, in 1777 they were in Pittsylvannia Vounty, VA. Neiahmiah's sons were Samuel, James, John, William and Wesley. John went to Tennessee, Samuel never left Virginia, and James, William and Wesley all came to Mississippi. William came sometime between 1825-1830, he married a woman named Mariah B. Trahern, whose family came from Loudon Co. VA. I have alot of info on his descendants thanks to an autobiography his son wrote, and was graciously sent to me my the grandson of this man. I do  not descend from William. I do not know which brother fathered the two sons of Peggy Trahern, who is listed in the supplement to the Treaty of Dancing Rabbit Creek (as Trihan). I have the scrip were she and her sons sold the land allotted to them by the treaty. These sons were Jerry and James N. Trahern. Other than that document, I have no information on Jerry Trahern. Wesley Trahern married Delilah Brashears in 1808. I have a copy of an entry of this marriage published in a genealogy association's journal. It lists the date and the page number, as well as the county. I doubt that Wesley was the father of James N. because the American State papers, vol 8 has several letters written about Peggy and Wesley's two orphaned daughters, Amelia and Letha, and their land allotments. In one, the Indian Agent states that Wesley was never involved with Peggy. James, Wesley's brother, was mentioned in a deed in the same time frame that James N. was born, I think he witnessed it, and in it, Zadoc Brashears was giving some land to his daughter Delilah. I am going from memory here, but that does put him in Mississippi at that time. James N. and his brothers/cousins George W. and William attended the Choctaw Academy in 1832. In 1842 when the land scrip I have was done, James N. was in Indian Territory. James N. was born ca 1816, and married Sarah Hall. They had 7 children. I descend from their son Robert who was born ca 1850, and died ca 1896. Robert married a woman named Cornelia, family rumor has that she was a Gardner, but this has never been confirmed. They had 6 children. I descend from their daughter Margaret Trahern born 1880 who married Jason Adams. The daughter of Margaret and Jason, Pauline "bonnie" married Claude Hagar, and her son is my maternal grandfather. Margaret, and all her siblings enrolled on the Dawes Rolls. I have all their numbers, and some of their children's numbers. Also, Margaret's Uncle and Aunt enrolled and some of her cousins. I have those numbers. Wesley Trahern's grandson, son of Gilbert (Gilbert was the son of Agnes Turnbull) also enrolled, as did his grandchildren from William (who went to the choctaw acadamy) and his great grandchildren. If any of his daughters children enrolled, I do not know, as I do not know who they married with the exception of one, Mary. Also, the children of Wesley Brashears Trahern, his son with Delilah Brashears I have no record of with the exception of Pier, who married Czarina Folsom, but died young, long before the rolls.

My husband, Glenn, and I live in Arcadia LA, when we're not on the road. Both our mothers live in Delhi LA - where we both grew up - so we aren't too far away from home. Glenn's grandmother, Jessie Trahern Cobb, didn't know a lot about her father's family. Her parents divorced when she was very young. Glenn and I went to see his grandmother's brothers in Wisner (Holly Grove community) in 1978. That's when I started the search into Glenn's side of the family. Glenn's great grandfather, William Wallace, had at least three families that we know about. William Wallace's youngest son is the same age as Glenn's mother (and she's Jessie's youngest child!)! Really, though, it has been fun putting the puzzle of the Trahern family together. It's especially gratifying since no one could give me any information except "the family is buried at Holly Grove." (Holly Grove Cemetery, Wisner LA) Glenn is 1st cousin 3x rem from Rich Holler (see above).

Jane Trahern Snider and husband Ron (northern boy) now live in Kansas City Missouri.
Sarah Trahern was the wife of my Dad's (C.L.) half brother Lee Trahern who lived the last 30 or so years near Wisner. Their father Pa W. Wallace Trahern had four wives, so all the brothers had different mothers. (so I have been told) My Dad's mother was Corniella. What a character!!! Everybody was very secretive when I was a kid in Wisner. There was some kind of family secret that people would start whispering about when the kids came around. There was a fifth brother but Dad said he fell off of a boathouse when he was three and drowned. As a kid in Wisner I spent a lot of time at the home of Jack and Rose Esminger. Loved Rose dearly.

Second cousin to Paul Wilson (see below). I have the family trace that a lawyer (Ware) did for our family way back when I was a small child. There are some mistakes in it. But here is some of it ....
There is a connection with the Traherns to the Choctaw Nation. Noatimah was my ggggrandmother. She was fullblood Choctaw. Noatimah had a French baptismal name ... she was buried in Orleans Parish. I'll start with Richard TRAHERN who married a Polly SHEPHERD, children Richard ... William ... Sarah ... James ... and Robert Trahern (no dates). The Alphonse LADINER family had three of his children marry into the Traherns: Richard Trahern married Seraphine Ladiner ... William Trahern married Margret Emiline Ladiner ... Sarah Trahern married Alexander Alphonse Ladiner. Other marriages: James Trahern married Lucreta C. Walters ... Robert Trahern married Mary H. Bosarge. Grandmother always said I was French/ Indian which is what Peggy Trahern was and she mentioned her several times. Somewhere in Franklin Parish my daughter says she thinks she saw a connection. I was talking to an older cousin and she mentioned Dr. Samuel Trahern, saying she had heard of him when she was younger. At this point I am working the Choctaw side ... and have some info for the Welsh side which is where the Trahern name comes from. It began with William Trahern who had two sons, William and Wesley, who came to America.
