Hello, Marie,

Thanks much for the warm welcome.  I'm not a Hollinger descendant, but was
pleased to find your mailing list as I do have a collateral line that
connects with the Hollingers.  Do some of your members have roots in PA?
I'll put names and dates together and post for the whole group, hopefully
tomorrow.

Dorie Leathers

DORETTA/DORIE - I haven't found a HOLLINGER that didn't come thro PA-

YES, we have several PA connection - But Many of Our Hollingers Need the
1800-1900 HOLLINGER info - Thanks, marie, iowa

Hello, Hollingers,

I have here a Catherine Hollinger, born 1760-70 in PA, wife of Valentine
Bohn of Manchester Twp., York County, PA.  The children I've proven were
baptized in Christ Evan. Lutheran Church at York between 1790-98.  I later
found the famly in Franklin County, PA, where Valentine died in 1814 and
Catherine in 1825.  I had no other clues regarding Catherine's ancestry
until recently.  I came across an ancestry chart, 70 years old, but it
names Catherine's father as Jacob, a Revolutionary soldier, who died 1827
in Greencastle, Franklin County, PA.  As an afterthought, his wife's name,
Elizabeth, was scribbled in on the margin.

Franklin County was not formed until 1784, so expect this Hollinger line
originated in York or Lancaster.  A quick check of my will and probate
indexes shows there were men by this name in both of these counties.
Thought I'd check first with the experts on this surname, before I go
searching.  Does anyone have a Jacob with a daughter, Catherine, who fits
the above description?

Hello, Don,

Thanks for heading me in the right direction.  I've checked out the above
website and this appears to be the correct family.  However, I'm still
unable to prove the connection.  The will of John Nicholas Hollinger,
d.1785, Lancaster County, PA is in German and the transcriptions have been
lost.  Is there a way to contact the person who submitted the info on his
line?
