I'm Charles "Chuck" Ivins, Jr., and new to this list. I have very little
info on my Hollinger ancestry, and hoping some of you may be distant
cousins.   I do know that Jacob died in Constantine, MI. I believe he was
born in Pennsylvania, and married in Sandusky Co, OH, to Sarah Overmyer
from Perry Co., OH.   I found "my" Jacob Hollinger in the "Overmyer2"
genealogy website some months ago.    All the dates and places match, tho
his son John Wilbur Hollinger isn't listed there, but does list three
daughters, Celeste, Margaret, and Josephine. Thanks in advance for any
info on these folks that you may have.

I did notice that John Wilbur's mother would have been 45 at his birth.
That does concern me and wonder if it is likely? It makes me wonder if
there are some inaccuracies some where.

We don't have much Sandusky Co, Oh info - perhaps others -
But, BURGNER/SELLERS family was in this area and then to SENECA Co, =next
door to Sandusky= But, my index of their names does Not show.
Shirley Robinette (a member) has done work on Burgner family - But, she is
out Gadding around the country ! She'll be back -
And someone else May have relation here?

Here is some additional, tho very limited information on my Hollingers.
They lived in Sandusky Co., Ohio, then at least one member, John Wilbur,
moved to Constantine, St. Joseph Co., MI. John Wilbur's daughter, Edyth,
was my grandmother.

I have a copy of his
obituary. It does mention his parents, Jacob Hollinger and Sarah Overmyer,
but no siblings are mentioned. It states that he was born in Sandusky Co,
OH, but lived most of his life in Constantine, (St. Joseph Co.) MI, and
died
at age 79. It also lists Ida Richards as his first wife (obit is
incorrect...it was Ida Blanchard), who died in 1895. He later married
Emma Black Gee. Survivors are listed as: daughters Mrs. Edith Blanchard
(my grandmother), Mrs. Roy (Evalyn) Laudeman, and Mrs. Clarence Barnhart
(I'm not sure who this is, unless it is Mable whom I show listed as married
to Charles Moore.), and son Wilbur John Hollinger.

I don't have any info on siblings or parents for Jacob Hollinger. I also
don't have any siblings for John Wilbur Hollinger, other than what appears
on the 1850 and 1860 census.

CHARLES -
The 1900 census looks like John HOLLINGER 1864 could have been married to
IDA SELINA Blanchard died in 1895 (Charles info)
and remarried Emma E. probably after 1895 and before 1897

AND if ARTIMETIA BLANCHARD 1817 was IDA'S mother
the child = Evaline Hollinger born june 1891 could be Ida's also?

Yes, Ida Selina Blanchard was my great grandmother, first wife of John
Hollinger. I have very little official genealogical documentation, but
one
thing I do have is a copy of Ida's death certificate. It states that she
died of consumption on August 28, 1895. My mother had requested a copy
of their marriage certificate from Michigan Dept. of Health but they were
unable to find it. We don't know the date either.

Artimetia Blanchard WAS Ida's mother. I have lots of info on Artimetia
(Blodgett) Blanchard's ancestry if anyone ever needs it. Yes, Evaline,
daughter of Ida, was my great aunt.....in fact she was our family
genealogist, and got me interested in continuing the research.
Unfortunately I have none of her documentation, just names and dates. Her
work is the back bone of the info I now have. She lived to be 99. I hope
she's smiling down on us! Her sister, my grandmother, Edyth, probably is
not listed in the census because she went to live with her uncle and aunt
in
Petosky, MI when their mother died.

Thank you all for helping prove my great aunt was right!

I received a "Certified Record of Death" for my great great grandfather,
Jacob Hullenger (as written on the form) from St Joseph, Co. MI county
clerk's office. He died March 26, 1892 in Constantine, and was born in
Pennsylvania. He was 79. I had hoped his parents were listed, but they
aren't. So I'm still trying to find out who they were! I can e-mail or
fax
a copy of the certificate to anyone interested.

BURGNER family also had a history on this family = connection to DANIEL
HOLLINGER in Huntingdon Co, PA? and kids moving to OH.

Huntingdon Co, PA was made 1787?
Some of these kids could be baptized in Lancaster Co, PA? or?

Peter Burgner m 1830 Stark Co Catherine Hollinger and came to Seneca Co

It appears this family did live/ in both counties - But, Not at same

HOLLINGER did - Although we don't know where this Jacob Hollinger is in

Do we Charles? Or did he just own land here? Sometimes, you can trace

"Hollinger Couple" this is the same picture that is on the wall in
"Hollingers" photo. We don't know who this couple is, but I assume they
are the parents or grandparents of Jacob Hollinger or his wife Sarah
Overmyer. I'm especially interested in finding out if anyone recognizes
them, or their manner of dress. Were they Amish, Mennonite, German
Reformed?

"Hollinger Sisters"
(Margaret, Josephine, Mary, Celeste Hollinger) But we don't know which
is which. Can anyone help?

I would like to ask if you would add, in the section for the 1900 census for
Emmet County, MI, my grandmother Edith Hollinger ew. William Blanchard. I
had been searching for her on the census and just found her a couple of days
ago. I know for a fact this is my grandmother because she told me
herself
she lived with her uncle and aunt, (William and Martha Blanchard) in the
Pestoskey (Emmet County) area after her mother died. Grandmom spelled her
name "Hollinger" but it looks like "Hoilinger" on the census. I am
attaching a copy of the census page which may be hard for you to read.
Its from Springvale Township, supervisors district 10, enumeration
district
91, sheet 15 B, page 160.

Its been a long since we've been in touch. I'm Chuck Ivins, descended from John Wilbur Hollinger, son of Jacob
Hollinger and Sarah Overmeyer. We had exchanged information quite a while ago.

I hadn't been working on the Hollinger branch of the family for some time, and did some searching today. I found
something that may interest you.

I didn't have much on the family of Margaret Hollinger (eldest daughter of Jacob and Sarah) and her husband
Isaiah Henricks. Did some looking around on the net, and found a family tree on ancestry.com that includes this
family. Then, I used an index to look for them in the census. I found them in Caldwell County of Missori, in
1870. I pressed my luck, and looked there in 1900 and found them again. To my amazement, not expecting to find
her at all, I found Margaret's mother, the 81year old Sarah Hollinger, living with the family!

I'm attaching two bitmap images; the first one shows Isaiah Henricks, at bottom of page; then the rest of the
family at the top of the next census page.
