Jane Peppler  I am descended from George Hodges b. 1640 of the Salem Hodges family and have a good line coming down to the present (George Hodges b. 1615 also married into this line).
Brenda Bradley  John Joesph Hodges 9/26/1863 married Sarah Margaret Henderson. Their children: Grace Prudence Hodges 3/3/1884 married Rufus Allen. Joesph drowned age 17. Lester Earl Hodges 3/22/1888 married Betsy Stembergen. Mary Celeste Hodges 8/1/1890 married Nollie Clark. 3 kids--Elsie Elisabeth Hodges 6/4/1893 married Cleave Dooley. 4 kids--Herbert Logan Hodges 2/27/1896 married Elsie May Irwin. Clara Minerva Hodges 4/25/1899 married William Otto Holder (my grandparents). Gladys Hodges 12/8/1903 married Ora Sisk all around state of MO. (Jefferson City, Highpoint, California, MO).
Diana Flynn  Looking for information on Ezekiel Wilmoth HODGES. He was born ca. 1822 in North Carolina and died in Indiana (possibly Monroe Co.) Nov. 15, 1890. He married Mary WIGMOTH/WILMOTH before 1843 in North Carolina. She was born ca. 1825 in NC and died June 6, 1894 in IN. Their children were: Martha J., Sarah Frances, Anna Eliza, James W., William F. and Nancy E.
Diana Flynn  BARTHOLOMEW HODGES. Looking for information on Bartholomew HODGES born ca. 1760 and died in Surry Co., NC ca. 1831. He married Elizabeth (maiden name unknown) ca. 1780. She was born ca. 1765 and died ca. 1831. Their children were: Martha, Sarah, Unknown son, Susannah, Tabithia, Drury, Moses, Rachel, James, and two unknown daughters.
Diana Flynn  Also looking for the parents and/or siblings of Mary HODGES, born Sept. 27, 1810 in NC, died Aug. 29, 1893 in Surry Co., NC. She married Bartholomew SMITH (1810-1899) on Aug. 29, 1831 in Surry Co., NC. (William HODGES, bondsman). Their children were: Thompson HODGES (1828), Nancy, William Howard, Rosenia, James Madison, Susan, Martha, Judea, John Burcham, Wary E., Mary B., and Sarah Elizabeth.
Tim Spradling  I am looking for the Ancestors & Siblings of William Lancelot HODGES b. 1826, in or near Albemarle Co. or Fluvanna Co., VA. He married Elizabeth NIMMO (d/o David NIMMO & Polly SULLIVAN) in 1848 in Albemarle Co., VA. Moved to Monroe Co., VA in the 1850s and had a Daughter Sarah Frances HODGES b. in 1859. Moved to Kanawha Co., VA in the 1860s. Died in Charleston, WV in 1906 & buried in Spring Hill Cemetary in Charleston, WV with his Wife.
F.R. Hodges  Seeking information on FRANCIS HODGES, who settled in Craven County, NC, in the 1730's. Married FRANCES CARRUTHERS, daughter of JOHN CARRUTHERS, (d. 1751-51), New Bern merchant. Liklely had sons JOSHUA (1736-1809), JOHN, FRANCIS JR, RICHARD, AND HARDY. Relocated to Dobbs County (now Lenoir County) NC in 1760's. Probably died around 1795. Especially intrested in son RICHARD, his wife (?), and children (?).
Sharon K. Kellogg  I am doing research on my great-grandmother's family line. Her name was Georgeann Hodges (born in Yell County, Arkansas) and she was the daughter of George W. Hodges (born in Tennessee) who was the son of Thomas Hodges who was born in 1811 in Tennessee. I would like to get some history of the family name and see if there is anyone out there who would be a descendent of one of the following:

Thomas Hodges born in 1811 in Tennessee married to Mahala ???.

Their children were: William B. Hodges, born 1840 in Tennessee; Thomas H. Hodges, born 1842 in Tennessee; George W. Hodges, born October 1842 in Tennessee (my ancestor); Benjamin F. Hodges, born 1844 in Tennessee; James H. Hodges, born 1850 in Tennessee.

Unfortunately, many of the early U.S. Census records only have family member's initials instead of names, which makes research extremely difficult. Any communication or information will be sincerely appreciated. Thanks!

Phylis Morgan  I'm doing research on the Hodges. I need information on Drury Hodges, born about 1810 in South Carolina. He married Elizabeth Zibrah Crane in Shelby County, Tennessee in November 1837. Any information would be appreciated.

Jim Hodge   I'm am searching for information on Achilles "Kellis" Hodge. Kellis was born 1810-1820 and married Parthenia Pegram in or about 1865 in Guilford County, NC. Kellis died in 1912 in Fayette County, WV. Any information would be appreciated.
Josephine Lindsay Bass  Searching for parents of my JOHN HODGES b 1755 d. 1821 in St. Helena Parish, LA. He m. Ann STANDARD b 1763, possible father is Capt. William Standard Capt. William Standard (Bobbie Moss p. 890) who commanded the militia unit up there in Cheraws Dist. SC, now part of Marlbourough Co. SC.

He migrated to St. Helena Par. LA after LA. Purchase 1803; may have had a short stop in GA. Lived in Darlington, SC and old Bible states Greenville, but no record found there. 13 children accounted for. William, Mary m. WADDELL, John F. m. HARRELL, Elizabeth m. NORWOOD, Sarah, Rebecca, Nancy, Dorothy, William Henry m. DORSET, George, Richard, Ann Jenima m. Rev. COLLINSWORTH, and Robert m. BIGGS. All born between 1779 and 1802.

Cherie Vannattan Hodges  G-G-Grandfather was George Washington Hodges. His son is Jojn Hodges and his son is Walter William Hodges 10-31-1906 to May 1984. My grandfather {Walter} was born in MO where our line pretty much stayed but heard there is more in TX.
Jennifer Williams  need some information on Robert Jackson Hodges. He married Mamie Raley. He was born May 31,1888. I think that he lived in Ga or Al
Tracey Hodges  is searching for family history on Sion (pronounced Shawn) Patterson Hodges. B.C. 1858-1872 D. (?) M. (?). his son was Jim/James Hodges B.C. 1883-1890 D. (?) M. Lillie Olla Bates. His son was Semple George Washington Hodges B. 3-22-1908 D. (?) M. Gracie Mae Haley. Someone had sent info saying that Sion P. was maybe descended from Moses Hodges who was born in Pittsylvania County, VA. Sion was born - I think - in Prince Edward County, VA. Please if anyone has info on this line I would appreciate hearing from you. By the way from Sion all the way down to Semple George - they were all tobacco farmers
Linda Thomas  Looking for Elizabeth HODGES b. 1778 Danville, VA m. 30 Dec 1798 to Moses HUBBARD in Danville. Parents John HODGES b. 2 Dec 1737 m 4 Jul 1760 to Lydia THOMAS in Pittsylvania Co. VA. I think his parents are John HODGES b. abt 1717 in VA and Martha d. 16 Mar 1814 at Hodges Ferry, VA. If anyone has any information please share.
Jan Pobjoy  My great great grandfather was Isaac HODGES. Isaac HODGES was born in Witham, Essex on 6.4.1823, the 3rd child of James HODGES & Sarah ANDREWS. James & Sarah had married in 1819 and their 4 children were :


1. Marianne b. 26.3.1820
2. James Abraham b. 29.4.1821
3. Isaac (my gt gt grndfather) born 6.4.1823 Died in Geelong 27.8.1877
4. Sarah b. 28.1.1826


Isaac migrated to Australia in the 1850's and married Isabel SMART (b.London c.1836) in Melbourne, Vic. on 12.4.1856. They had 12 children and owned a large number of hotels in Geelong, Victoria. Isaac's second child Frederick (b. 20.1.1859) was my great grandfather.

I would love to hear from other Essex or London Pobjoy's. It seems that many of the families there were brewers, as was my Isaac HODGES.

Debra Burhite  Looking for info on Capt. Roger Hodges b. 1635 d. 1708 in Norfolk co Va and his line! He was married to Mary Manning.


Vanrhea Estel Sweeney  I have been trying to reasearch my ancestors by the name of Harrison who lived in Danville, Ill. By what I have been able to research my gr. grandparents William H. Harrison and Hester Ann his wife. In the 1880 census they had a James Hodges, son-in-law who was born in NY (?) and two grandchildren by the name of William Hodges, grandson, age 12 years and Lillie Va Hodges, granddaughter age 9years. This was in the 1880 census.


In the 1860 census there was listed a Nelson D. Harrison, I believe 4 yrs, not too clear and he is my grandfather who married a Mary Catherine Stanley. Their daughter Hester Ann Harrison I cannot find a birth certificate.
