Welcome to

THE HINMAN FAMILY ASSOCIATION

A Non-Profit Membership Society for Hinman Family Genealogical Research

WE'RE HAVING A REUNION!!!

Make plans to join us next summer in beautiful Florida for the Hinman Family reunion.

About Us

The Hinman Family Association has been around since 1974 and has concentrated on documenting both the descendants and ancestors primarily of Sgt. Edward Hinman who appears to have arrived in Boston 19 June 1650 aboard the ship William & George and settled in Stratford, Connecticut.

Our Publications

The original Hinman book was published in 1852 by Royal R. Hinman. "Catalogue of the Names of the First Puritan Settlers of the Colony of Connecticutt". He was going to do the whole alphabet, but got to "E" when he realized he might not live to do "H", so he did A-B-C-D-Hinman. Then he reissued the Hinman part in 1856. Republished in 1968.

A "Compendium of Hinman Genealogies" was published in 1998 by the Hinman Family Association due mainly to the great efforts of Milton Hinman.

The Hinman Family Association has published to date 9 research reports concerning Hinman Genealogies.

The Association also publishes a quarterly newsletter which is mailed to all members. To become a member send an e-mail to [email protected] Membership is only $10.00.
