Margaret C. ( Helman) Caufman

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Margaret C. Caufman, 92, of 3355 Spring View Drive, died Sunday, April 12, 1998, at Menno-Haven, Chambersburg. Born April 1, 1906, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Bertha McKenzie Helman.

She retired from Franklin County Nursing Home, Chambersburg. Previously, she had been employed by Waynesboro Hospital, Waynesboro, Pa. She was a member of Old Order German Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Betty H. Gipe of Chambersburg; one sister, Mary Slouthour of Marion, Pa.; four stepbrothers, Abram Benedict and Paul Benedict, both of Chambersburg, Joseph Benedict of Fayetteville, Pa. and Harry Benedict of Waynesboro; seven grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 29 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Ezra Benedict; two sisters; two brothers; one stepsister; and three stepbrothers.

Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Falling Spring Old Order German Baptist Meeting House. The Home Brethren of the Falling Spring Meeting House will officiate. Burial will be in Brown's Mill Cemetery, Kauffman, Pa. A private family service will be Wednesday at 9 a.m. at the home of Raymond and Betty Gipe, 3355 Spring View Drive, Chambersburg. The viewing will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Gipe home, 3355 Spring View Drive, Chambersburg.

The family requests the omission of flowers. Arrangements are by Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg.
