Obituary: LORA HELMAN, 78, who pioneered a program in instructional television, died Nov. 27, 1993, a local hospital.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., with the Rev. O. Gerald Trigg officiating. Entombment will be at Shrine of Remembrance Chapel Mausoleum.

Mrs. Helman was born Nov. 14, 1915, to Gabriel C. and Mildred E. (Hudson) Davis.

She was married Aug. 5, 1940, in New Orleans to Eugene B. Helman, who is deceased.

She is survived by two sons, Richard K. of Onalaska, Wis., and Stephen B. of Colorado Springs; and three grandchildren.

Mrs. Helman received a bachelor's degree from Central Missouri State University in Warensburg and a master's degree in education from the University of Missouri. She was responsible for implementing the first class for academically talented children in Colorado Springs School District 11. She taught at the elementary level for 20 years in District 11 and for 13 years in Missouri. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
