In the name of God Amen:

In the name of God Amen: I, Lorentz Hellman of Warwick Township, Lancaster County and State of Pennsylvania, Yeoman being sick and weak in body, but of perfect Mind and Memory Thanks be given unto God, calling unto mind the Mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for once to die, do make and order this my last Will and Testament, and first I give my Soul into the hands of almighty God that gave it and my body to the Earth to be buried in decent Christian Burial at the descretion of my Executors. and as my touching such Worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give devise and dispose of the same in Manner and form following. Imprimis, I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Anna one cow, two beds and bedsteads, one kitchen dresser, one iron wash kettle, the two largest Cedar tubbs, one spinning wheel, one reel, one table, one Chest, one dough trough and as much of our kitchen furniture as she shall please, and also one templated stove and pipe, all linen cloth and materials to make such, all grains which we have, and whatever <illegible> and other <illegible> before hand and to her use.

Item, I give and bequeath unto my said Wife Anna one mare now heavy with colt and also one side saddle also beforehand.

Item, I will and order that my said wife Anna shall have use of all my plantation until my eldest son shall arrive at his lawful age for which she shall raise and bring up my children without further charge or cost. In case she remains my widow. The remainder of my personal Estate will and order that it shall be sold to the best advantage and appropriated to pay my outstanding just debts after that whatever my said wife may buy of the same shall be left in and to her use until my said son shall arrive at his lawful age or her second marriage without interest.

Item, I give and bequeath unto my eldest son Jacob the sum of ten pounds beforehand and above his further share.

Item, I give and bequeath unto my son David in case his present <illegible> should continue on him or prove detrimental to him the sum of fifty pounds both which to be taken out of my real estate.

Item, I will and order that after my said son shall have arrived at his lawful age my executor shall name and appoint two just and responsible men to appraise the same and besides the sum of fifty pounds as the first payment shall make the remaining payments as they see just and equitable if my said son shall not be capable or willing to take the same aforesaid then I will and order that my Executors shall dispose of the same and settle the payments to the best advantage for the good of my Estate and whoever gets the same, to give sufficient security for the different payments thereof. I also empower my Executors to give sufficient deed or deeds for the same which I acknowledge to be good and valid as if I with my own hand had done the same.

Item, I give and bequeath unto my said wife Anna yearly and every year out of my said plantation after it is out of her hands and she remains my widow, twelve bushels of clean wheat, four bushels of clean rice, 1 hundred weight of good pork, and the lard belonging thereto, fifty pounds of good beef, ten ponds of hacked hemp or flax the two thereto belonging, further she shall have as many apples as she shall use in any way whatsoever and also one barrel of good cyder yearly and every year barrel included, three pounds of wool yearly and every year. Her cow to be kept for her winter and summer equally with their on the place, also one mare or horse creature to be pastured and fed also equally with their own entirely for her use excepting that she does not make use of the same the Possessor of my plantation may make moderate use of the same. I will and order that plenty of good firewood shall be delivered to the door of my said wife in due time, she shall have yearly and every year the little garden before the door one half quarter of an acre for potatoes one half acre land for Indian corn all of which properly plowed and manured equally with their own.

Item, I will and order that the Possessor of my Real Estate shall erect a new house or building namely a place of to be joined to the kitchen of our dwelling house dimensions in length the same as with the breadth of said dwelling house and the breadth thereof to be twelve feet wherein I order shall be a fire place and chimney the height to be equal with the one we now live in the same shall be well made and finished for my said wife and I give and bequeath the same unto her together with the above mentioned articles and also full liberty of the cellar and Spring House and bake oven during her natural life in as she remains my widow, the money arising out of my real and personal estate as also may be left after the decease or second marriage of my said wife Ann to be divided between all my children equally share and share alike beginning with the eldest and following the course of their ages in the yearly payments of my plantation aforesaid.

And lastly,I nominate and appoint my trusty friends John Erhb Johnson and George Hollinger the executors of this my last Will and Testament. I do hereby utterly disallow and revoke and disannull all and every other and former wills, testaments, bequests and executors by me anywise heretofore made willed and bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the first day of April Anno Domini One Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety Seven.
