In The Name of God Amen

I, Jacob Helman of the town of Hanover in the County of York and the state of Pennsylvania <illegible>being weak in body, but of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding Blessed be God for the same and calling unto mind mortality of my body and knowing it is appointed for all men once to die do this twenty third day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty nine make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament in the following manner. <illegible>Principally and first of all I recommend my Immortal Spirit into the hands of my great Creator trusting in the merits of Jesus Christ my redeemer for pardon and remission of all my sins and an happy admission into the region of bliss and immortality and for my body I recommend to the earth to be decently buried in a Christian and like manner at the discretion of my executors nothing doubting but I shall never be the same again by the almighty power power of God and as <illegible> such Worldly estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with in this Life. I give and bequeath and dispose of the same in the following manner. Imprimis I will, order and direct that all my just debts and funeral charges be paid as soon as conveniently may be after my decease by my executors herein after named.

Item I give and bequeath unto my my loving wife Barbara the bed, bedstead and bedding wherein we us to lie in with all the Bed clothes thereto belonging and all the linnings that I have, also one cow, two pigs, kitchen furnishing to the value of six dollars at her own choice and all the cash that I have and all the outstanding debts and also one third of all the best of my personal estate during her lifetime, and also one chest and further I give unto my said beloved wife Barbara all that my house and lot of ground and premises wherein I now live in the Town of Hanover aforesaid during her lifetime and after her decease I order and direct my executors herein after named to sell and dispose of the said house and lot of ground and premises at publik sale and convey the same by deed in fee unto the purchaser or purchasers thereof as fully and as amply as I myself might or could do where I personally present. whereas I have heretofore given unto my son Jacob Helman who is now deceased in his lifetime the sum of twenty pounds in money And have also given unto my son Martin Helman the sum of eight pounds. Therefore I further give unto my said son Martin Helman the sum of twelve pounds and unto my son Michel Helman the sum of twenty pounds and unto my daughters my two daughters Eave and Margaret the sum of twelve pounds each and a bed to each of them the said two daughters which bed they already have and own. and all the rest of my estate both real and personal I give and bequeath to be divided in five equal shares to and among my children aforesaid and grandchildren. That is to say that one fifth part thereof unto three grandchildren of my son Jacob Helman deceased. Namely Jacob Helman, Barbara Helman and William Helman to be equally divided among them and their heirs and assigns forever, the second fifth part thereof I give unto my son Martin Helman and his heirs and assigns forever. The third fifth part thereof I give unto my son Michel and to his heirs and assigns forever, the fourth fifth part there of I give unto my daughter Eave Helman and to her heirs and assigns forever and the remaining fifth part I give unto my daughter Margaret Helman and to her heirs and assigns forever. And lastly I nominate and appoint my son Martin Helman and my trusty friend Christian Milheim executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby disallowing and making null and void all other or former will or wills ratifying and confirming this and no other to be and contain my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year within written.
